Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Nick Runyon started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Peyton Humphreys, 5-7 Jr. Cheyenne Fullwood, 5-10 Fr. Elise Ellison-Coons, 5-5 Sr. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-7 Sr. Aniyah Cotton.  Collins coach Sean Pigman countered with 5-11 Jr. Trinity Warfield, 5-7 Sr. Hannah Cleary, 6-2 Jr. Mary-Clare Megibben, 5-7 Jr. Hallie Renfro, and 5-8 So. Olivia Federle.

 

Collins defeated a cold shooting (22.8%) Paul Laurence  Dunbar team by a score of 66-57.  Dunbar attempted 79 shots from the field compared to 46 for Collins.  Collins turnovers and offensive rebounds kept Dunbar within striking distance as the Lady Bulldogs score 21 points off 17 Collins turnovers.  Mashayla Cecil connected on 12 of 25 from the field for Dunbar but the rest of the team was six of 54 from the field.  Collins led 37-23 late in the second quarter and while Dunbar mounted a rally to cut the deficit to six; 46-40 after three quarters Collins held on for the victory.

 

Collins shot 45.7% from the field including six of 13 from the free throw line.  The Lady Titans connected on 18 of 37 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 17 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 22.8% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 15 of 26 free throws, pulled down 58 rebounds, and scored five points off nine Dunbar turnovers.

 

Olivia Federle led a balanced Collins scoring attack with 16 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and five assists.  Hallie Renfro added 11 points.  Mary-Clare Megibben was a force in the paint as she recorded 10 points, 18 rebounds, and nine blocked shots.  Trinity Warfield recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Hannah Cleary also scored 10 points.

 

Mashayla Cecil led Paul Laurence Dunbar with 33 points including six three point baskets, nine rebounds, and three steals.  Peyton Humphreys added 10 points and nine rebounds.  Elise Ellison-Coons recorded six points and 12 rebounds.  Aniyah Cotton recorded two points, 15 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
