Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Jackson Davis, 6-6 So. DeAndre Dishman,  6-9 Jr. Nick Mayo,  6-5 Fr. Peyton Broughton, and 6-4 Fr. Dedric Boyd.  Western Kentucky University coach Rick Stansbury countered with 6-7 Sr. Justin Johnson, 6-4 GS Darius Thompson, 6-9 GS Dwight Coleby, 6-2 Fr. Taveion Hollingsworth, and 6-3 Jr. Lamonte Bearden.

Western Kentucky dominated play tonight with an 83 – 51 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  Western Kentucky shot 56.7% from the field including 10 of 18 from the three point line.  The Hilltoppers connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 13 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 36.8% from the field including eight of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored six points off six Western Kentucky turnovers.

Lamonte Bearden led seven Western Kentucky players in double figures with 16 points, six assists, and two steals.  Taveion Hollingsworth added 14 points including three three point baskets and four assists.  Justin Johnson recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.  6-1 Fr. Jake Ohmer chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets and five rebounds.  Darius Thompson added 11 points and nine assists.  Dwight Coleby recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots.  6-7 Fr. Marek Nelson also reached double figures with 10 points and five rebounds.

Dedric Boyd led Eastern Kentucky with 16 points including four three point baskets.  Nick Mayo added seven points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Jackson Davis added seven points and five rebounds.
