Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Cameron King, 6-1 Sr. Devontae Hayes, 6-9 So. Ray Suratt, 5-11 Sr. Eric Powell, and 5-11 Sr. Fousseyni Diallo.  Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. countered with 6-3 Sr. Dustin Geralds, 6-1 Sr. Kenyon McKee, 6-8 Jr. Isaiah Cozart, 5-10 Sr. Isaiah Minter, and 5-11 Sr. Jacori Miller.

 

Madison Central raced out to a 21-6 first quarter lead on their way to a 63-57 victory over Lafayette tonight.  Madison Central shot 40.4% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 35.5% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 17 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Dustin Geralds led Madison Central with 24 points including two three point baskets, 17 rebounds, and three assists. Isaiah  Minter and Kenyon McKee added 11 and 10 points respectively.  Isaiah Cozart recorded nine points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots.

 

Eric Powell led Lafayette with 16 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Devontae Hayes added 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Ray Suratt recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.
