Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Lucky Jackson, 6-1 Jr. William Watkins, 6-6 Jr. Ross Jenkins, 5-9 Jr. Jaelin Jenkins, and 6-0 Jr. Harrison Lane. Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-1 Jr. Tre Penney, 5-9 Jr. Jordan Brown, 6-5 Sr. Jacob Herrin, 5-9 Jr. Vincent Clark, and 6-2 So. Taveion Hollinsworth. Dunbar is extremely short-handed at this stage on the season due to injuries, etc.
Lafayette pulled away in the second quarter on their way to a 71-57 victory over Dunbar. Lafayette shot 46.3% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Generals connected on 16 of 31 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 25 Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 41.7% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.
Ross Jenkins led Lafayette with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocked shots. 5-10 So. Jajuane Carpenter added 14 points and five assists. Harrison Lane checked in with 10 points. Lucky Jackson recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
Taveion Hollinsworth led Dunbar with 35 points including 13 of 17 free throws, 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.
