Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Colby Barnes, 6-3 Jr. Leander Ridgeway, 6-5 Jr. Jordan Houston, 6-1 Sr. Felix Wilson, and 6-1 Jr. Isaiah Tisdale.  Holmes coach Mike Listerman countered with 6-2 Sr. Jason Covington, 6-0 Jr. Marcus Mullins, 6-4 Sr. Rod Avery, 5-10 Jr. Markel McClendon, and 6-0 Sr. James Bolden.

Henry Clay trailed 41-31 in the third quarter but rallied to lead 55-49 at the end of three quarters on their way to a 79-67 victory over Holmes.  There were 11 lead changes and four ties in this game.  Henry Clay shot 55% from the field including seven of 14 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on six of 15 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored five points off 14 Holmes turnovers.  Holmes shot 45.8% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on nine of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Henry Clay turnovers.

Isaiah Tisdale led Henry Clay with 33 points including four three point baskets and 10 rebounds.  Felix Wilson added 14 points and five assists.  Jordan Houston chipped in with 12 points.

Rod Avery led Holmes with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  James Bolden added 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Markel McClendon chipped in with 10 points.  Jason Covington and Marcus Mullins each scored nine points.
