42nd District Tournament (Boys and Girls)

Scott County High School

Georgetown, KY

February 23rd, 2010 Day 1

 

Henry Clay  (5-19)  vs.  Scott County  (18-6)  (Girls)

Scott County defeated Henry Clay by a score of 57-46.  Scott County shot 36.8% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 12 of 23 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 30.8% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored four points off 11 Scott County turnovers.

5-10 Sr. Madisen Webb led Scott County with 13 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.  5-10 8th grader Tereka Guyn added 13 points and eight rebounds.  5-10 Jr. Kristen Stainback also recorded 13 points.  5-9 Jr. Alex McKenzie chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.

5-8 Jr. Candace Morton led Henry Clay with 27 points and 11 rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Clarke James added nine points.

Sayre  (16-9)  vs.  Scott County  (22-6)  (Boys)

Scott County defeated Sayre by a score of 77-40.  Scott County shot 45.3% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on three of seven free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 24 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 34.8% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Scott County turnovers.

6-4 Sr. Chad Jackson led Scott County with 20 points and nine rebounds.  6-3 Sr. Austin Flannery added 16 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Sr. Ge-Lawn Guyn chipped in with 10 points.  6-3 So. Tamron Manning recorded seven points, 13 rebounds, and six assists.

6-0 So. Reid Freeman led Sayre with 12 points including two three point baskets.  5-8 Fr. Mike Smith added eight points.  6-7 8th grader Dakari Johnson recorded six points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.
