Makayla Epps.  Elizabethtown coach Tim Mudd countered with 5-9 So. Kaylyn Cecil, 5-6 So. Tara Gilpin, 6-0 Jr. Adelaide Luckett, 5-6 Jr. Hannah Hart, and 5-6 Jr. Natalie Greenwell.

Marion County outscored Elizabethtown 20-5 in the second quarter on their way to a 72-41 victory.  Marion County shot 54.5% from the field including nine of 24 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on three of nine free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 20 Elizabethtown turnovers.  Elizabethtown shot 30.4% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Marion County turnovers.

Makayla Epps led Marion county with 24 points, five rebounds, and eight assists.  Bre Elder added 21 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.  Brooke Roberts chipped in with 18 points including five three point baskets.  Kyvin Goodin-Rogers recorded nine points, 11 rebounds, three blocked shots, and four steals.

Adelaide Luckett led Elizabethtown with eight points and 10 rebounds.  Natalie Greenwell added eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Tara Gilpin chipped in with seven points including two three point baskets.

Franklin County coach Scott Chalk started the following lineup:  6-4 Sr. Vance Hall, 5-11 Sr. Lyndon McKee, 6-5 Sr. Michael Samples, 5-8 Sr. Bryce Burton, and 5-11 Sr. Brandon Jennels.  Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon Jr. countered with 6-6 Sr. Phillip Barner, 6-5 Sr. Tyler Smothers, 6-6 Jr. James Evans, 6-2 Sr. Mike Baffour, and 6-0 Sr. Joe Fain.

Bryan Station held on to defeat Franklin County by a score of 56-53.  This was two games within one as Bryan Station outscored Franklin County 26-8 in the second quarter to take a 38-22 lead at halftime.  Franklin County trailed 46-33 at the end of three quarters but outscored Bryan Station 20-10 in the final quarter to make it close.

Bryan Station shot 52.3% from the field including one of five from the three point line.  The Defenders connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 23 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 36.7% from the field including  six of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 25 Bryan Station turnovers.

James Evans led Bryan Station with 19 points and six assists.  Evans was seven of nine from the field and five of six from the free throw line.  Phillip Barner added 11 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four blocked shots.  Joe Fain chipped in with eight points.

Brandon Jennels led Franklin County with 14 points including four thee point baskets.  Vance Hall added 13 points and seven rebounds.  Bryce Burton chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.

Liz Walton, 5-5 Sr. Meghan Cawood, and 5-6 Sr. Anna Gayle Scott.  Clay County coach James Burchell countered with 5-10 Sr. Jordan Phillips, 5-9 So. Sabrina Smith, 6-1 Jr. Whitney Belle Jackson, 5-5 So. Alisha Mitchell, and 5-7 Jr. Kayla Smith.

Clay County held on down the stretch to record a 47-46 victory over Lexington Catholic.  Lexington Catholic outscored Clay County 20-13 in the second quarter to take a 28-23 halftime lead.  Clay County rallied and the score was tied 39-39 entering the final period.

Clay County shot 48.5% from the field including one of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Tigers connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington catholic shot 29.4% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Clay County turnovers.

Whitney Belle Jackson led Clay County with 17 points and seven rebounds.  Jordan Phillips added nine points and 11 rebounds.  Kayla Smith recorded nine points and six assists.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 15 points, nine rebounds, and six steals.  Octavia Wilson added 14 points including three three point baskets.  5-9 Sr. Cassie Williams chipped in with 10 points including three three point baskets.

McCreary Central coach Robert Jones started the following lineup: 5-0 Sr. Zack Roark, 6-4 Sr. Tyler Perry, 6-4 Sr. Sean Privett, 5-8 Sr. Ben Wright, and 6-2 Sr. Aaron Watts.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-4 Jr. Taylor Martin, 6-3 Jr. Scott Schuette, 6-8 Sr. Tanner Peurach, 6-0 Jr. Seth Beckham, and 6-0 So. Jaylen Beckham.

Lexington Catholic pulled away late for a 69-56 victory over McCreary Central, a score that was not indictive of how close and competitive this game was tonight.  McCreary Central took a 16-15 lead after the first quarter and trailed 30-29 at halftime.  McCreary Central’s Aaron Watts had a great first half with 19 points including five three point baskets.  Seth Beckham led Lexington Catholic in the first half with 11 points.  Taylor Martin played like a man possessed on defense over a period of time in the first half with three blocked shots.

Lexington Catholic ramped up the defensive pressure to start the third quarter and earned a little breathing room but McCreary Central fought back to cut the deficit to six; 46-40 entering the final quarter.  LexCath pulled away late and hit their free throw down the strech as McCreary Central was forced to foul in an attempt to cut the margin.

Lexington Catholic shot 43.9% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 18 McCreary Central turnovers.  McCreary Central shot 36.2% from the field including nine of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Raiders connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Jaylen Beckham led Lexington Catholic with 22 points, nine rebounds, and eight steals.  Scott Schuette added 17 points including three three point baskets.  Tanner Peurach chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds.  Seth Beckham recorded 12 points and nine rebounds.

Aaron Watts led McCreary Central with 30 points including six three point baskets.  6-4 Jr. Jacob Dixon added 10 points including three three point baskets and pulled down seven rebounds.  Zack Roark chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.  6-3 Fr. Tyson Williams recorded five points and nine rebounds.

Harris Levine led Louisville Collegiate with 20 points including two three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds.  Layth Masri added 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.  Andrew Steggman also reached double figures with 10 points.  Chris Townsend chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.

Lafayette coach Greg Coldiron started the following lineup: 6-3 Fr. Nick Trisko, 5-11 Sr. John Burton, 6-2 Sr. Domonique Hagans, 6-1 Jr. D’Angelo Yarbrough, and 5-11 Sr. Eric Shaw.  Franklin County coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-4 Sr. Vance Hall, 5-11 Sr. Lyndon McKee, 6-5 Sr. Michael Samples, 5-8 Sr. Bryce Burton, and 5-11 Sr. Brandon Jennels.

Franklin County raced out to a 43-35 halftime lead on the strength of a torrid 66.7% from the field.  Franklin County cooled off in the second half (24% from the field) and Lafayette rallied for a 71-64 victory.  Franklin County still led 52-49 at the end of three quarters but Lafayette outscored the Flyers 22-12 in the final period.

Lafayette shot 44.4% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 20 of 28 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 15 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 46.2% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the aec.  The Flyers connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Lafayette turnovers.

John Burton and D’Angelo Yarbrough led Lafayette with 17 and 16 points respectively.  Domonique Hagans and Eric Shaw each recorded 14 points and nine rebounds.  Shaw was five of six from the field and four of five from the free throw line.

Vance Hall led Franklin County with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.  Michael Samples added 12 points and six rebounds.  Brandon Jennels chipped in with 12 points.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 23-13 first quarter lead and was never threatened in a 61-44 victory over Clark County.  Clark County was coming off a close loss to Scott County on Sunday and to make the evening worse Robbie Stenzel went down late in tonight’s game with an ankle injury.

Lexington Catholic shot 48.1% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 23 Clark County turnovers.  Clark county shot 39.5% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 12 of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Lexington Catholic  turnovers.

Jaylen Beckham led Lexington Catholic with 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Tanner Peurach also scored 16 points and pulled down six rebounds.  Scott Schuette and Seth Beckham each recorded nine points.

Robbie Stenzel led Clark County with 19 points including two three point baskets.  Vinny Zollo added 10 points and nine rebounds.

This game was played on Sunday January 31st.

Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Austin Flannery, 6-3 So. Scott County shot 42.6% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line.  The Cardinals were 12 of 18 from the free throw line and pulled down 38 rebounds.  Clark County shot 35.1% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 20 of 28 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 15 Scott County turnovers.

Chad Jackson led Scott County with 27 points and seven rebounds.  Jackson was 11 of 15 from the field and five of nine from the free throw line.  Dakotah Euton added 15 points and 14 rebounds.  Tamron Manning chipped in with 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Robbie Stenzel led Clark County with 21 points and nine rebounds.  Corey Rogers added 15 points and eight rebounds.  Vinny Zollo recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds.  Zollo was nine of 10 from the free throw line.
