Into
the abyss I fall,
To my prince I leap and call.
But my screams only thunder the stones in pain,
My efforts are all in vain.
I wait into the
night,
Just gazing at the moonlight.
I can hear the blood in my veins beat,
From my heart to my feet.
Can my heartbeat be
heard?
I fear it will awaken more than birds.
I must journey into the dark,
And leave a trail of marks.
I walk among the
gloom,
My aching soul signals my doom.
I hear the trees rustle as a shadow glides by,
Will I ever see my beloved before I die?
I retire on a
stone,
At least my love will find my bones.
The shadow lurks ever so near,
My eyes swell with tears.
My lack of faith is
to blame,
But the shadow speaks my name.
Suddenly, arms clutch around me.
A wave of comfort so familiar, I see.
Is this my
love?
He answers, "'Tis my dove."
A vision of home comes to pass,
I am found at last.
