How to Become a Registered User

Firstly, anyone can view the board. However, if you plan on posting, you must register a user name first.

Go here:
http://www.ezboard.com/create_join.html and fill out the online form. You will receive an e-mail from ezboard.com that will provide a link that you will click on to activate your user name.

Congrads! You are now a member. ;)

Logging into the Board

If it is your very first time posting on the board, I recommend that you do the following:

Go
here and click on a forum that interests you.

Click on the "New Topic" button, located on the right side of your browser. Fill in your registered user name and password and post something that relates to what the forum is about. Please do not post any "testing" posts. They will be deleted.

After you are finished typing, you may either click "Add Post" or check the preview box and click "Add Post". Choosing that option will bring you to another screen where you can review your post. If you aren't happy with it, click the "Back" button on your browser. If you are happy with it, click "Add Post" and your message will be displayed immediately.

Logging in becomes much easier after your first posting. Ezboard.com tracks which communities you visit most frequently, so all you have to do is go to: http://pub95.ezboard.com/bwitchnet and click on the word "Login", which is on the left side of your browser. You can also go to http://www.ezboard.com and log on from there.

Type in your user name and passwood and click the "Login" button. Scroll down to "Recently Visited Communities" and click on "Middle Eastern Dance Message Board."

5.) Try to be as specific in your questions as possible. Vague questions will receive vague responses if any responses at all.
6.) Please keep all html and graphics reasonably small. Otherwise, it would take the thread too long to download.
7. To avoid confusion when replying to messages, it is highly recommended that you change the subject line to address who you are speaking to.
8.) Lastly, if you are clinically depressed and / or suicidal, please shut off your computer and talk to a real person (a family member or close friend) immediately. We are not trained professionals that know how to handle serious depression. There is nothing that we could physically do to give you the help that you need. A flesh and blood person can help. A message board cannot. It's not that we don't care. If we truly didn't, then this wouldn't be mentioned.

User Status

Underneath a poster's user name, you will see different titles that describe the status level of that user. I've chosen custom titles that have a magickal vibe to them. Please keep in mind that they have nothing to do with role playing games. They are just meant to be fun. :)

The following are all the user status levels and the responsibilities that go along with them.

Queen of the Nile: Means the user is the board owner. This is the highest level and with it comes the most responsibilities and longest hours of work. A Goddess is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the entire message board community. Designing graphics, html, creating forums, so on.
Abilities: Creating Forums / Deleting Forums / Deleting, Editing, & Moving Posts / Giving & Revoking User Status / Opening & Closing Topics / Banning.
In short, complete board control.

Princess of the Nile: Means the user is a Moderator. A Princess of the Nile can be assigned to just one forum, a few forums, or all forums depending on the needs of the board owner and / or the specialties of the user.
Abilities: Deleting, Editing, & Moving Posts / Opening & Closing Topics.
Note: If a Princess of the Nile is assigned to only one forum, that is the only place where they can use their abilities.

Muse of the Nile: Means the user is a Forum Host. Their abilities remain the same as a registered user's.
They are the teachers and / or guides of a particular forum or forums.

On occasion, you may see people with the titles: Princess of the Nile/Muse. That means the user is both a Moderator & a Forum Host.

Now we move on to the Registered Users, which is what everyone becomes the very first time that they post.

Registered User: Can Post New Messages, Respond To Messages & Edit Their Own Messages.

Keeping with the same theme as the above custom titles, a registered user will receive a new title automatically the more that they post. Abilities do not change, however. You can only be granted higher abilities by the board owner, (me).

These titles are my way of telling you how important you are to the Middle Eastern Dance Community and I hope that you enjoy them. :)

Enchantress of the Nile: Automatic after 30 posts.

Vision of the Nile: Automatic after 75 posts.

Please don't feel the need to get these titles all in one day, though. :P Only post and respond when you feel like it.

Now you may be asking yourself, "Can I ever receive more abilities in time?" Well, certainly! :)

Moderators and Forum Hosts (remember, abilities remain standard with being a host) are needed, so you can become either a Princess or a Muse. Here are the rules:

1.) You must have a specialty. Something that you excel in. (Example: Costuming. You would be assigned to a Costuming Forum.) Or, if you have expertise in many areas, you may be assigned to a few forums that I can be create. Suggestions are always welcome.
2.) You must be a Vision of the Nile before applying. After 75 posts, you can e-mail me your application to become either a Princess of the Nile or a Muse of the Nile and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
3.) You cannot abuse your abilities. If you do, they will be revoked.

Note: Rule # 2 only applies to new members. If you have been a member for a considerable length of time, feel free to apply right away because I know your personality already.

In closing, please keep in mind that being a Princess or Muse means more responsibility. It will still be fun, but it's a job that requires dedication, too. If you are up for the task, mail the online application to me and provide your user name.
