What do bellydancers wear to dance class?

The classtime look is very relaxed. You can wear anything that's comfortable, but something that is snug is best.

Here are some ideas of what you might wear to a regular belly dance class:

• loose, comfortable pants (like pajama bottoms)
• harem pants
• snug top
• dance skirt
• sports bra or short top

If it's comfortable and you can see what you're doing in the mirror, then it works.

Professional Preformances

What do bellydancers wear to professional preformances?

Many belly dancers like to make their own costumes, adding a personal and unique touch to their performance. It can be less costly at times, as well. For those dancers who can't use their time on that shop online and hit any local belly dance vendors in their area.

There are several basic costume pieces that almost every professional/performing dancer has or will have. They include but are not limited to:

• harem pants
• choli (top)
• dance skirt (this includes circle and many other types)
• costume bra
• belt
• pantaloons
• gauntlets
• arm bands
• hip scarf
• chain/coin belt

...and much more. Many dancers constantly add to their costume/dance wardrobe!
