The Greatest Gift!!

You may ask, "What is the greatest gift?" The greatest gift that you, me, and everybody else can receive is Eternal Life. Eternal life is a free gift and the passport to heaven. It's receive through the power of salvation. Some of you may think that you don't even need Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Before you make your decision on whether or not you want to receive the gift of eternal life, ask yourself a few questions:

If you answered "Yes", to any one of these questions, then you should read on. Accepting the gift of eternal life through the power of salvation is what you need. There are a few things that you should know about eternal life. "These things I have written to you...that you may know that you have eternal life.

As stated above, eternal life (heaven) is a free gift. "...the GIFT of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus Our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Since Heaven is a free and geniuine gift, you can't get it by good deeds or religious works. "For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God, not of WORKS, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We can't earn our way to heaven because we are all sinners. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) Sin is transgressing God's law and includes such things as lying, lust, cheating, deceit, anger, evil thoughts, immoral behavior, and more. Because of this, we cannot save ourselves. However, in spite of our sin, God is merciful. And He says, "...I have loved thee with an everlasting love..." (Jeremiah 31:3) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting (eternal) life." (John 3:16)

Who is His Son?

God's Son is Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that clearly that He is the infinite GOD-MAN. "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus)...and the Word (Jesus) was God. And the Word (Jesus) was made flesh, and dwelt among us..." (John 1:1,14) Jesus Christ came to earth and lived a sinless life, but while on earth He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose from the grave to purchase a place for us in heaven. "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity (sin) of us all." (Isaiah 53:6) Jesus Christ bore our sins in His body on the cross and now offers you eternal life (heaven) as a free gift.

How do you receive this gift of everlasting life?

Receive this gift from God by Faith. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1) Faith is, also, the key that opens the door to heaven. It's trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It means resting upon Christ alone and what He HAS Done rather than in what you or I have done to get us into heaven. "...Believe (trust) on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." (Acts 16:31)

Realize that Jesus doesn't want us to be burden down with a lot of problems. Jesus says, "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:29) I Peter 5:7 goes on to say, "casting all your care (burdens, worries, distractions, anxieties) upon Him (Jesus), for He (Jesus) cares for you." All Jesus wants us to do is believe in Him. He wants to take away every weight and every burden. Jesus says, "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me." (John 14:1)

Jesus is the only way to receive the gift of eternal life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Him. (John 14:6) The questions that God is asking you now is:

Would you like to accept Jesus as your personal Savior?
Would you like to receive the gift of eternal life?

It's important that you understand that when accepting Jesus as your personal Savior and the great gift of everlasting life, you need to:

"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Now, if you really want to receive Jesus as your personal Savior and a place in heaven (eternal life), then you can go to God in prayer. "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and the nouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Roman 10:10, 13) Now, call on Jesus, asking Him for the gift of eternal life right now. Here's a suggested prayer:

"Lord Jesus Christ, I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in heaven for me. Lord Jesus, come into my life; take control of my life; forgive my sins and save me. I repent of my sins and now place my trust in You dor my salvation. I accept the free gift of eternal life. In your name, I pray, Lord. Amen.

If this prayer is the sincere desire of your heart, look at what Jesus promises to those who believe in Him. "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believe in Me has everlasting life." (John 6:47)

Congratulations!

Now that you have turned back on the world of sin, truly repented (forsaken, turned away) from your sins, placed your trust in Jesus Christ's dying on the cross on behalf of our sins, and received the gift of eternal life, you are now a child of God! Forever! You are now part of God's Family.

"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12)

"The theif does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:1,2)

"There is therfore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death."
(Romans 8:1-2)
