DragonBall was release in Japan as a weekly comic book strip called Shonen Jump. It was based on the monkey legends that Japanese history holds. In a matter of time the DragonBall series become the most popular anime comics in Japan. A while later after the DragonBall series finished, Akira Toriyama (The Author) created a new series called DragonBall Z. This all happened in 1984, the story of a little boy and his adventures became really popular. It was the top selling manga in Japan. In 1986, the first episode of DragonBall was released on TV. After a while Akira had to start a new series called DragonBall Z. After the 291 episodes Akira decided to leave the great series of DragonBall. The series did not stop, soon after the fans wanted more DragonBall. The companies that made the series before decided to invent their own series called DragonBall GT A.K.A DragonBall Grand Tour. Akira had no part in these new series (They were not that good).
