Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Princess Stewart, 5-8 Sr. Savannah Courtney, 5-11 Sr. Rebecca Cook, 5-4 8th Grade Brooklynn Miles, and 5-6 Jr. Kindall Talley. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-9 So. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-8 Jr. Tekiya Garr-Carter, 5-11 Sr. Kiara Pankins, 5-6 Jr. Terri Abram, and 5-9 Jr. Caroline Bennett.
Franklin County took control in the second quarter and held a 29-17 lead at halftime on their way to a 54-37 victory over Lafayette and earn their third consecutive region championship. The score was tied three times and there were six lead changes in the game. Franklin County shot 40% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 29.3% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Franklin County turnovers.
Brooklynn Miles led Franklin County with 15 points and six rebounds. Rebecca Cook dominated tonight with 13 points, 10 rebounds, seven blocked shots and three steals. Princess Stewart recorded 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Savannah Courtney chipped in with five points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
Tekiya Garr-Carter led Lafayette with 13 points including seven of 10 free throws and five rebounds. Kiara Pankins added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Lindi DeBilzan recorded six points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
