Lauren Turner added 13 and 10 points respectively.  5-8 Sr. Nikcoa Jackson led Central with seven points and nine rebounds.  5-6 Fr. Alexis Green added seven points.  Monroe county scored 31 points off 26 Central turnovers.

 

Christian County 47  Seneca 39 – 5-10 Sr. Kimberly Hyde led Christian County with 12 points and 14 rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Martessia Williams added 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  5-3 So. Jaquasha Nicholas also recorded 10 points.  6-2 Jr. Kearra Pennie led Seneca with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  6-3 Jr. Sabrina Jackson added 10 points and six rebounds.  6-3 Jr. Ashley Leach recorded six points and 10 rebounds.

 

Mercy Academy 55  Murray 46 – 5-11 Sr. Courtney Roush led Mercy with 11 points.  5-8 Jr. Whitney Hartlage added nine points and five rebounds.  5-7 Kayla Richardson chipped in with nine points.  5-9 Sr. Haley Armstrong led Murray with 16 points including three three point baskets.  5-6 Jr. Janssen Starks added 16 points and seven rebounds.

 

Manual 70  East Carter 31 – Manual scored 42 points off 33 East Carter turnovers.  Manual’s starters playing time ranged from 7:52 to 10:11 minutes of playing time.  5-10 Sr. Kara Wright led the victors with 13 points.  5-9 Jr. Morgan Allen added 10 points.  5-3 7th grader Kristen Mayo and 5-10 Fr. Megan Stickler led East Carter with 11 and nine points respectively.

 

St. Joseph WV 49  Sacred Heart Academy 45 – 5-8 So. Mychal Johnson led St. Joseph with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  5-9 So. DaiJia Ruffin led SHA with 15 points and 12 rebounds.  5-6 So. Raven Merriweather added 14 points.  6-1 Sr. Jazmin Smith pulled down nine rebounds and blocked five shots.

 

Ballard 67  Owensboro Catholic 49 – Ballrd outscored Owensboro Catholic 24-9 in the final quarter.  5-9 So. Dre’a Matchen led Ballard with 20 points and nine rebounds..  5-6 Sr. Daryius Franklin added 14 points and eight rebounds.  5-11 So. Javonna Layfield recorded 12 points and nine rebounds.  5-11 So. Ki’Ana Richardson chipped in with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  5-5 Jr. Leah Greathouse led Owensboro Catholic with 14 points.  5-4 Sr. Laura Riney added 12 points.  Ballard held a 34-8 advantage in second effort points.

 

Ryle 52  Assumption 44 – 5-11 Sr. Jenna Crittendon led Ryle with 17 points.  5-6 Sr. Tyianna Douthit and 5-7 Jr. Dawn Johnson added 11 and 10 points respectively.  6-6 Fr. Nora Kiesler led Assumption with 20 points and six rebounds.  5-10 Sr.Morgan Foley added 12 points.

 

Casey County 59  Scott County 53 – 5-11 Sr. Megan Pittman led Casey County with 17 points and 12 rebounds.  5-5 Jr. Jasmine Johnson added 12 points.  5-6 So. Audriana Christopher led Scott County with 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  5-6 Sr. Ally Conrad added 14 points including four three point baskets.  6-0 So. Tereka Guyn recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.

 

Tomorrow bracket play begins in all three divisions, Gold, Silver, and Bronze brackets.

Simon Kenton 55  East Carter 35 – 5-2 So. Makenzie Hester and 5-6 Sr. Hannah Stephenson led Simon Kenton with nine points each.  5-10 Fr. Megan Stickler led East Carter with eight points.

 

St. Joseph WV 69  Boyd County 38 – 5-5 So. Griffin Dempsey led the victors with 23 points including five three point baskets.  5-8 So. Mychal Johnson added 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and five steals.  5-10 So. Asia Petitte chipped in with 11 points.  5-7 So. Taylor Wheeler led Boyd County with eight points.  The third quarter was the downfall for Boyd County as they were outscored 25-5.

 

Ryle 62  Meade County 36 – 5-11 Sr. Jenna Crittendon led Ryle with 26 points including three three point baskets and pulled down 10 rebounds.  5-10 Jr. McKell Oliverio added 11 points.  6-1 Fr. Morgan Turner led Meade county with 12 points and seven rebounds.

 

Butler 43  Monroe County 37 – Butler outscored Monroe County 17-5 in the final quarter to earn the victory.  5-10 Jr. Aareon Smith led Butler with 14 points and five rebounds.  5-10 Jr. Danielle Lawrence added 10 points and six rebounds.  5-7 Jr. Madison Clements led Monroe County with 15 points.  6-1 Sr. Caylan Bybee added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

 

Christian Academy of Louisville 59  Casey County 47 – 5-10 Jr. China Dow led CAL with 31 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four steals.  5-7 Sr. Katie Shaheen added 15 points including three three point baskets.  5-11 Sr. Megan Pittman led Casey County with 29 points and 13 rebounds.

Manual 75  Simon Kenton 38 – Manual scored 37 points off 28 Simon Kenton turnovers.  5-8 Jr. Destony Curry, 5-10 Sr. Kara Wright, and 5-8 Sr. April Wilson led Manual with 13, 12, and 10 points respectively.  5-5 So. Katie Jones, 5-8 So. Sarah Tomlin,  and 5-10 Rachel Figgins led Simon Kenton with eight, six, and six points respectively.

 

Mercy Academy 71  Hart County 44 – Mercy raced out to a 20-7 first quarter lead on their way to victory.  5-8 Jr. Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 15 points including three three point baskets and eight rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Christine Roush added 13 points and 10 rebounds.  5-11 Sr. Courtney Roush recorded eight points and eight rebounds.  5-8 Sr. Lexee Wilson led Hart County with 15 points.  5-10 Sr. Molley Scott added 12 points.

Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Isaiah Ivey, 6-1 Sr. Josh Harris, 6-3 Sr. Tamron Manning, 5-10 Jr. Quin Richardson, and 5-11 So. Trenton Gilbert.  Perry County Central coach Allan Hatcher countered with 6-3 Sr. Kyle Huff, 6-2 Sr. Jaysean Paige, 6-7 Jr. Dalton Cornett, 5-10 Sr. Trevor Combs, and 5-8 8th grader Braxton Beverly.

Scott County defeated Perry County Central by a score of 66-56.  Scott County shot 45.5% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Perry County Central turnovers.  Perry County Central shot 47.6% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 12 points off six Scott County turnovers.

Trenton Gilbert led a balanced Scott County attack with 16 points including four three point baskets.  Tamron Manning added 15 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.  Isaiah Ivey chipped in with 14 points.  Josh Harris also reached double figures with 12 points.

Jaysean Paige led Perry County Central with 32 points including four three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Dalton Cornett added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Woodford County trailed 38-36 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 54-43.  Woodford County shot 54.5% from the field includig one of eight from the three point line. The Jackets connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off nine Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 36% from the field including zero of nine from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Woodford County turnovers.

David Greenwell led Woodford County with 23 points and six rebounds.  Eli Boggess added 13 points.  Addison Hollin chipped in with 10 points.

Darius Gibson led Tates Creek with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Dai Quan Epps added 10 points and six rebounds.  Jordan Fucci chipped in with nine points.

Paul L. Dunbar coach Sara Van Horn started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Morgan McEldowney, 5-6 Jr. Lexus Edwards, 5-10 Jr. Lakeena Parks, 5-2 Jr. Jordin Fender, and 5-2 Jr. Kierra Muhammad.  Lexington Catholic acting head coach Nick Cann countered with 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin, 5-10 Sr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-7 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-8 Jr. Octavia Wilson.

Lexington Catholic defeated Dunbar by a score of 54-51.  Lexington Catholic led 45-23 in the final quarter but Dunbar went on a 15-0 run to pull within seven; 45-38 with 3:24 left in the game.  Dunbar evntually pulled to within two; 53-51 and actually had a chance to tie the game on a three point shot at the buzzer which hit the rim and bounced off  to end this exciting contest.  LexCath was flawless for the first three and a half quarters scoring at will inside but Dunbar’s press was devastating in the final minutes.

Lexington Catholic shot 54.1% from the field including one of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 18 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 29.5% from the field including zero of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs attempted 24 more shots (61-37) from the field than Lexington Catholic.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 31 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 28 points, 18 rebounds, and four assists.  Botkin was 11 of 13 from the field and six of 10 from the free throw line.  Emily Johns added 13 points.

Morgan McEldowney led Dunbar with 13 points.  Jordin Fender added 11 points and Kierra Muhammad recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and six steals.  Lakeena Parks chipped in with six points and eight rebounds.

Assumption coach Steve Small started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Kelsey Kaiser, 5-8 Jr. Katie Friedrich, 5-11 Sr. Morgan Foley, 5-6 Sr. Becca Durbin, and 5-4 Jr. Brandy Hunter.  Manual coach Stacy Pendleton countered with 5-11 Sr. Kara Wright, 5-8 Sr. Lauren Bodine, 6-1 Jr. Kayla Styles, 5-7 Sr. Leasia Wright, and 5-8 Sr. April Wilson.

Manual scored 46 points off 34 Assumption turnovers in a 82-48 victory.  Manual shot 54% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Crimsons connected on five of nine free throws and pulled down 25 rebounds.  Assumption shot 48.6% from the field including one of four from beyond the arc.  The Rockets connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored nine points off 16 Manual turnovers.

April Wilson led Manual with 24 points including three three point baskets and recorded five steals.  Lauren Bodine added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Leasia Wright chipped in with 10 points, six assists, and five steals.

Katie Friedrich led Assumption with 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  6-6 Fr. Nora Kiesler added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
