Wayne County coach Tim Pyles started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Ashton Bell, 5-7 Sr. Taylor Bell, 5-10 Sr. Megan Burchett, 5-7 8th Grade Macey Blevins, and 5-8 Jr. Hannah Jackson. Southwestern coach Stephen Butcher countered with 5-10 Fr. Grace Taylor, 5-9 So. Kallie Sheron, 5-10 Fr. Regi Cundiff, 5-8 Sr. Casi Reed, and 5-8 Fr. Kennedy Harris.
Southwestern pulled away in the second half to defeat Wayne County by a score of 57-43. Southwestern shot 42% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line. The Lady Warriors connected on 21 of 31 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Wayne County turnovers. Wayne County shot 35% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Southwestern turnovers.
Casi Reed led Southwestern with 20 points. Regi Cundiff added 11 points and seven rebounds. Kennedy Harris also scored 11 points. Kallie Sheron recorded six points and eight rebounds.
Ashton Bell led Wayne County with 15 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Taylor Bell added 11 points and five rebounds. Hannah Jackson chipped in with 10 points.
