Tennessee Tech University coach Steve Payne started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Curtis Phillips Jr., 6-3 Sr. Kajon Mack, 6-6 Jr. Mason Ramsey, 6-2 Sr. Hakeem Rogers, and 6-3 Jr. Aleksa Jugovic.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-2 Fr. Parker Chitty, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.

 

Eastern Kentucky University held on down the stretch to defeat Tennessee Tech University by a score of 75-71.  Eastern Kentucky relied heavily on Nick Mayo tonight who recorded two personal milestones.  Mayo scored a career high of 31 points and also joined the 1,000 point club tonight as he finished the game with 1,025 career points.  Eastern Kentucky’s only senior Isaac McGlone finished his 72nd win as a Colonel.

 

Eastern Kentucky shot 49.1% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Tennessee Tech turnovers.  Tennessee Tech shot 43.3% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Tennessee Tech held an 18-8 advantage in second chance points.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 31 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Asante Gist added 22 points including six of six free throws, five assists, and three steals.  Zach Charles recorded nine points and nine rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Dillon Avare chipped in with six points on two three point baskets and five assists.

 

Mason Ramsey led Tennessee Tech with 16 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Hakeem Rogers added 15 points including two three point baskets.  Kajon Mack recorded nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  6-2 So. Stephaun Adams chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and four assists.
