Wayne County coach Rodney Woods started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Stetson Simpson, 6-1 Jr. Clay Shelton, 6-4 Jr. Jakson Baker, 5-8 Jr. Kameron Gehring, and 6-0 So. Aubrey Weaver. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-3 Jr. TC Price, 6-2 Sr. Blake Scott, 6-7 Sr. Peter Whitman, 5-9 So. Javen Hardin, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Johnson.
Lexington Catholic, fueled by a 42 point scoring outburst by Luke Johnson, defeated Wayne County by a score of 81-62. Lexington Catholic shot 57.6% from the field including three of 17 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 15 Wayne County turnovers. Wayne County shot 38.3% from the field including nine of 25 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 42 points including nine of 10 from the free throw line, four rebounds, six assists, and seven steals. Peter Whitman added 12 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. Javen Hardin recorded eight points, four rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. 6-6 So. Brice Scott chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.
Jakson Baker led Wayne County with 16 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Aubrey Weaver added 13 points. Stetson Simpson recorded seven points, four rebounds, and three steals. Clay Shelton chipped in with seven points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
