Whitley County coach Jerry Overbey Jr. started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Dylan Wilson, 6-2 So. Brian Lawson, 6-4 Sr. Tyler Downs, 5-10 Sr. Josh Richardson, and 6-0 Jr. Corey Johnson. Madison Southern coach Shane Buttry countered with 6-1 Jr. Noah Marshall, 6-2 Sr. Michael Jefferson, 6-4 Sr. Nathan Prewitt, 5-8 Sr. Trey Boggs, and 6-0 Sr. Caleb Miller.
Madison Southern defeated Whitley County tonight by a score of 61-52. Madison Southern shot 43.8% from the field including seven of 17 from the three point line. They connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Whitley County turnovers. Whitley County shot 47.5% from the field including five of 11 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored nine points off eight Madison Southern turnovers.
Caleb Miller led Madison Southern with 18 points including four three point baskets and four steals. Michael Jefferson recorded a triple double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and four steals. 5-9 Jr. Shawn Short chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets. 6-2 Sr. Bryar Rose recorded eight points and six rebounds.
Corey Johnson led Whitley County with 17 points including two three point baskets, five of five free throws, four assists, and two steals. Tyler Downs added 10 points and nine rebounds. 6-0 So. Hunter Hollingsworth recorded 10 points and four rebounds.
