Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor, 5-10 Sr. Zee Willix, 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper.  University Tennessee Martin coach Kevin McMillan countered with 6-2 Jr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-10 So. Myah Taylor, 6-0 Jr. Janekia Mason, 5-7 Fr. Kendall Spray, and 5-8 So.Emanye Robertson.

 

Eastern Kentucky University led 27-25 at halftime but University Tennessee Martin outscored the Colonels 22-11 in the third quarter on their way to a 66-56 victory.  The score was tied five times and there were 17 lead changes in the game. The victors were 20-24 from the free throw line while EKU only attempted one free throw in the entire game.  UT Martin shot 37.9% from the field including two of 18 from the three point line.  The Skyhawks connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 EKU turnovers.  EKU shot 38.5% from the field including six of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels missed their only free throw, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 UT Martin turnovers.

 

Ashton Feldhaus led UT Martin with 18 points and nine rebounds.  Janekia Mason added 14 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.  Kendall Spay chipped in with 11 points.  Emanye Robertson recorded eight points and four rebounds.  Myah Taylor chipped in with seven points and six rebounds.

 

Alexus Cooper led EKU with 12 points on four three point baskets, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Jalen O’Bannon added 12 points and eight rebounds.  6-3 Jr. Madison Wood recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Shavontae Naylor chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Mariah Massengill added nine points, five rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
