Wayne County vs. Estill County (Girls)

Estill County High School

Irvine, KY

February 10, 2017

 

Wayne County coach Tim Pyles started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Ashton Bell, 5-7 Sr. Taylor Bell, 5-10 Sr. Megan Burchett, 5-7 8th Grade Macey Blevins, and 5-8 Jr. Hannah Jackson.  Estill County coach Brian Hall countered with 5-11 Sr. McKenzie Flynn, 5-4 Jr. Savannah Brewer, 5-10 Sr. Sidney Danyeur, 5-2 Sr. Kaley Treadway, and 5-4 So. Meagan Bellamy.

 

Wayne County defeated Estill County 66-60 in overtime.  Wayne County shot 51% from the field including three of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored two points off seven Estill County turnovers.  Estill County shot 33% from the field including four of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Engineers connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored seven points off 15 Wayne County turnovers.

 

 Ashton Bell led Wayne County with 21 points and five rebounds.  Hannah Jackson added 13 points, seven rebounds, and five steals.  Megan Burchett recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Taylor Bell also scored 12 points.

 

Sidney Danyeur led Estill County with 24 points and 14 rebounds.  Savannah Brewer added 14 points.  McKenzie Flynn recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.
