Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-8 Sr. Nick Trisko, 6-4 Sr. Aaron Evans, 6-9 Jr. Jackson Davis, 6-2 Jr. Lance Blakely, and 6-3 Sr. Tranard Chester.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-6 Jr. Trey Grundy, 6-4 Jr. Jordan Green, 6-4 Sr. Gerrard Newby, 6-0 Jr. Teddy Ware, and 6-1 Jr. Christen Cunningham.

Jackson Davis hit a basket in the closing second to give Lafayette a 65-64 victory over Henry Clay.  The score was tied 12 times and there were 12 lead changes in the game.  Lafayette shot 43.6% from the field including four of eight from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 13 of 26 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 42.9% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.

Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 23 points and 11 rebounds.  Tranard Chester added 19 points including three three point baskets.  6-6 Sr. Charles Sweat-Washington recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.  Nick Trisko chipped in with seven points and six rebounds.

Jordan Green led Henry Clay with 24 points.  Christen Cunningham added 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Trey Grundy chipped in with 11 points.  Teddy Ware added 10 points including three three point baskets.

Henry Clay    14  17  19  14 – 64

 

Lafayette (65) – Trisko 7, Evans 0, Davis 23, Blakely 5, Chester 19, Sweat-Washington 10, Robinson 1.

 

Henry Clay (64) – Grundy 11, Green 24, Newby 3, Ware 10, Cunningham 14, Tisdale 2.
