Washington Fly Tyer Stu Farnham Washington Fly Tyer Stu Farnham is a man of few words when it comes to talking about himself and his art but that is perhaps because his demeanor and his flies speak for themselves. It have been very fortunate to meet him (though not yet in person) and I already know, but you will see what I mean when you read what he has to say about himself, and look at his flies. We are very fortunate to have him as a Contributing Fly Tyer for Salmonfly.Net.

I moved to the Pacific Northwest from New England in the early 1990s and never looked back. Now a resident of Duvall, WA, I spend too much time working and not enough time fishing. I live with my wife, Colleen, a pack of Gordon Setters, and a pair of Tennessee Walking Horses. In addition to not fishing, I also do not have time to hunt upland game birds or field trial my dogs, so I spend my spare moments tying flies and reading and collecting books on fly fishing and tying. I hope to retire soon and start a second career as "local color".
