Orange Heron, Tied By Stu Farnham

Name Orange Heron
Category Steelhead
Hook Partridge N #2
HackleBlue eared pheasant
RibOval and flat silver tinsel
BodyRear 1/2 orange silk floss, front 1/2 orange seal in a dubbing loop of the body floss, split
WingFour orange neck feathers, back-to-back

This is the third in the series of Syd Glasso flies tied by Washington Contributing Fly Tyer, Stu Farnham. You can see more of Stu's flies at The Flies of Stu Farnham. See his notes about the Orange Heron below.

Stu's Notes: Syd's Heron series is so named because it features heron feathers for the body hackle. Since heron is not legal in the US, most tiers substitute blue eared pheasant.
