I thought a white garden would really sparkle on this side of the house next to the verdant green of the woods. Some spots receive a few hours of sun each day so I am trying some roses, but most of this area is shady for most of the day. The real bear has been the rocks in this area. I was expecting rocks next to the driveway but was not expecting the big (6") rocks that I have dug up on this side of the house. The good news is that I have dug up enough to make a fair edging for the path. The albas growing here have been a little slower growing and perhaps would bloom more in full sun, but they are healthy and bloom in May. I have added some white foxgloves which I grew from seed with the WinterSowing method. |
