July 18, 2003: Today I had to go in and meet with my social worker and work on my treatment plan. Such as my goals, talk about my medicine, sign a bunch of papers, etc. When I looked at my treatment plan, it said my main diagnosis is: Excessive Anxiety Disorder. Which, is the main problem that I am working on right now. Underneath, they said they couldn't identify any stressors, meaning that they have no idea what causes my excessive anxiety. My goal: To continue to do household chores, school activities, and free activities without any problems. Right now, the main concern is my anxiety issues, cause I am still pretty edgy. As of now, my medicine dosage hasn't changed. I have to go back and work on my treament plan on October 3,2003.My appointment with my psychiatrist isn't until later, that's when we'll make a decision about my medicine.
Entire Month of October 2003 Everything was pretty much going fine until my pharmacists switched me from the regular brand of Paxil to the generic kind. I had a horrible allergic reaction that caused me to spend a week off of school at home in bed. I had horrible dizzy spells, lightheadedness headaches....I had to go to the hospital to make sure that it was really the meds, and I had a CT scan done, to make sure I didn't have a tumor and that came back negative. So, don't let anyone tell you that switching from the name brand to the generic can harm you, because it can. If you think this is possible, talk to your doctor about it and see if he can give you samples of your meds for free, or write you a prescription stating that you have to take the name brand of the medicine.
