2nd Lt William Vodges, Company F ,23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves". He was mustered in on August 2nd 1861 at the Skuykill Arsenal in Philadelphia. Promoted to 2nd Lt. on December 15th 1862. Mustered out with Company on September 8th 1864.

Lieutenant Coloniel William J. Wallace of the 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves".Mustered in August 14th 1861 at the Skuykill Arsenal in Philadelphia. Promoted from Captain of Company E on December 13th 1862. Made Lt. Col on December 7th 1863. Wounded at Fair Oaks May 31st 1862 and again at Cold Harbor on June 1st 1864. He lived at 1432 South 49th Street in Philadelphia.
Sergeant James Spence, Company H,23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves". He was mustered into service as a Private on August 10th 1861. Promoted to Corporal on December 1st 1862 and to Sergeant on August 1st 1864. He was mustered out with the Company on September 8th 1864. He died in Philadelphia on April 28th 1903. His burial location is unknown at this time.
2nd Lt. John G. Boyd, Company D, 23rd Pennsylvania, "Birney's Zouaves". John was mustered in at the Skuykill Arsenal on August 24th 1861. He was placed in Company D as a First Sgt. Promoted to Lt. on September 11th 1862. He was Killed at Cold Harbor on June 1st 1864. His burial Location is Unknown. If anyone has information to his final resting place, please e-mail us.
2nd Lt. John G. Boyd, Company D, 23rd Pennsylvania, "Birney's Zouaves". John was mustered in at the Skuykill Arsenal on August 24th 1861. He was placed in Company D as a First Sgt. Color Sergeant Frank M. Worth, Company H,23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves". Frank was mustered into Service at the Skukill Arsenal on August 20th 1861. He was wounded at the Battle of Malvern Hill on July 1st 1862. He was wounded and Captured at the Battle of Cold Harbor on June 1st 1864. He was last living in Excelsior, Minnesota. His burial Location is Unknown. If anyone has information to his final resting place, please e-mail us.
