Faith and Conduct

For Beginners, Faith is important. But in Buddhism, one's Conduct is a very important part. In order to be promoted to higher levels (Heaven), one must do good, abstain from doing the five evil conducts and also be sincere.

Having faith alone without one doing good deeds will lead to religious fanatics. In Buddhism, there are no fanatics because no Buddhist ever have extreme faith without having proper conduct.

In order to reach the Land of Ultimate Bliss, one must be able to leave the World behind - to be able to leave the materialistic world and offer good conduct and to be sincere to the Buddha.

It is true that in today's world, one can claim that he/she is a Buddhist, have faith in the Buddha but there are still many who do not offer good conduct. They do not adhere to the Panca Sila (The Five Percepts). What's more, many only pray and offer good conduct in the times of their suffering and when it is all over, they forget praying and offering good conduct.
