Getting around New York is made easy with a choice of; 3,700 buses, 714 miles of subway, 12,000 taxis and limousines. There are also ferries, helicopters, bicycles and commuter rail services.
Buses - $2.00 subway token can also be used on New York buses. The buses operate 24hours. Subway - $2.00 per ride, one day and weekly MetroCards are also available. This service operates 24hours. Taxi's - initial fare $2, then $0.30 per 1/5 of a mile, idle minutes $0.20, 8pm to 6am surcharge $0.50. Bicycles - are available for hourly hire in many of the parks. Limo/Car Service's - available for transfers between the airports and hotels. Ferries - from Lower Manhattan to Staten Island there is a free service during which you will pass Governor's Island and the Statue of Liberty on your 25 minute ride. Helicopter - enjoy a 5 - 7 minute helicopter flight approximately $49 or 15 -17 minute flight for $155.
