New York City is made up of five boroughs:

Bronx – is mainly a residential community. One of the main attractions is the Bronx Zoo, which is very impressive.

Brooklyn – holds a population of approximately four million and is almost four times the size of Manhattan. Brooklyn is primarily residential with very few tall buildings.

Manhattan – an island approximately two miles wide and over 12 miles long. Central Park is located in the centre of Manhattan and is four miles long by a half-mile wide. Most of the business, economic, entertainment and cultural sites of the city can be found here.

Queens - also a predominantly residential community but the difference is that it has many high-rise apartment complexes.

Staten Island - the island has a small town feel, with many single-family homes. To enjoy the views of NY and the Statue of Liberty take the Staten Island ferry from Battery Park (southern Manhattan) to the island.
