These are some of the largest and the best gardens/parks in New York:

• Brooklyn Botanical Garden - covers an area of 52 acres

• Central Park is 843 acres. Comprising of a zoo, walking trails, ice rink (in winter), lake, many restaurants and gardens.

• New York Botanical Garden - is 250 acres

• Prospect Park - is 526 acres. It consists of a 60 acre lake, 90 acre long meadow and Brooklyn's only forest.

Out of the 197,696 acres that make up NYC, a massive 52,938 (26.8%) acres are parks or open spaces. This makes New York City the greenest city in America.
