There are three main categories for theatres in New York:

Broadway - Theatres with over 1000 seats. Tickets range from $35 - $40. Orchestra seats are approximately  $80 - $100.

Off Broadway - These theatres generally seat between one hundred and five hundred people.

'Off Off' Broadway - Theatres with less than a hundred seats are considered 'Off Off' Broadway.
