Day 8
Friday April 1, 2022
I was up early today and got things together and packed up. Even though I'm going home today I've got all day because my flight is a red eye.
I left The Cromwell and went downtown. With it being a new month I have new offers down there and today's play would be a repeat of yesterday.
Because I lost my notes and I'm writing this a week later, only the highlights will be reported. I have no idea what happened to them. I rarely lose anything like that.
From memory all of the play at Four Queens was on the short pay penny games to save time. It was smooth but no royals or dealt quads. I ran the free play through 9/6 jacks for halves and got most it it out in cash.
I moved over to Binion's next. I blew through 5 bills with few quads and only had about 1/3 of the play in.
For lunch I went to deli. I had the “Famous Burger”. Looks like the patty size was back to normal compared to the last time I got it.
After lunch I continued play. Things were up and down but the swings weren't terrible. While I was playing Jim showed up to get his play in. He was hitting quads one after another while I was dying. I finally popped aces and was back in the game. A few more quads kept me going and luckily I didn't need to add in any more cash. When I was done with my play I was down $600. I was a bit aggravated but knew I had $475 free play after the bonus.
I went over to the players club to have the $75 bonus added to my card and came back to the machines to run it through. While I did that Jim went to get his bonus added. I was getting crushed until I got dealt quad kings. Even with these I was still down a bit on the free play. I had turned it into $430 and decided to play down the $30. I was glad I did when I hit my 3rd royal here in a year for $4,000!
After all of the paperwork was done I was also given a $100 comp to Whiskey Licker Up where we had plans for the final dinner together.
We left Binion's and went over to Golden Gate to find Albert and tell him of the fortunes. I showed him the W2G and the food comp and was promptly called a cock sucker. Why? Because Albert has been getting his ass kicked all week and knew I was rubbing it in.
Me and Jim left Golden Gate and split up for a while. We all met back up for dinner at Binion's. With a $100 comp here were were able to go all out. We got a sampler that had chips, onion rings and wings on it. It was very overpriced for what was on the tray compared to the regular appetizers. I got wings for my meal. Good sized with good flavor but they over sauced them. We all had a good time but I had to get going. It always sucks to leave when we're having fun like that.
It was now time to get going to the airport. Of course the first stop was to gas up the car and then it was on to the rental car facility.
Returning the car went well and I was on the shuttle back to the airport.
I had checked in online earlier and with just a carry on went right to security. This went well but it was slow because they once again closed the pre check line and sent everyone to the main line causing a bottleneck.
I had plenty of time before the flight so wandered around and even played a few penny games. No major wins or losses.
It was time board and I was in the first group and took my seat, 1A. This is flight 2378 non stop from Las Vegas to Newark scheduled to depart at 11:10pm arriving in Newark at 6:50am with a flight time of 4 hours and 40 minutes. The standard announcement was made and they told us it was only going to take 4:22.
After we took off we were served a meal. One guess of what the choices were. Yup, chicken breast with southwestern rice or polenta with tomato sauce. Come on United, change up these meals a little bit.
After I ate I slept for the rest of the flight. I was woken up by the announcement that we were on our final approach.
We landed at 6:30am and taxied to the gate. Once I was off the plane I went right to the air train and to Avis.
I booked an intermediate with a discount code through my job at a base price of $42 and all in for $62. They did have my name on the board and a red Honda Civic with 27,000 miles on it. I looked the car over and headed out.
With it being early Saturday morning the ride home was smooth sailing with no morning rush hour.
I stopped for McDonald's on the way home pulled into my driveway at 8:30am and this trip came to an end.
