Day 8
Tuesday December 27, 2005

Hotel:
Today is moving day for the last time this trip. Today I’ll be moving to the Hard Rock for the last 3 nights. The first 2 nights are comped from the mailer they sent me and the 3rd night is being comped by my host. I checked in at the VIP room and was given room 1034. This room is in the original tower and it’s the first time I’ve ever been here. The rooms are decorated the same but are laid out a little differently. I also have a view of the pool and really great view of the strip.

While in the VIP room waiting to check in there was a guy there. The girl at the desk said hey Drew and I looked up and this guy looked like Drew Carey. Turns out it really was him. He seemed like a pretty nice guy (I didn’t talk to him) as he talked to the girls in there. He even tipped them because they all had to work on New Year’s. I thought that was pretty nice. It was also nice to see he wasn’t a pompous asshole because he’s famous.

Gaming:
My first issue of business was to cash out my points at Main Street Station. I had $135 in the account so it again eased the pain of the losses last night.

Once I got settled into the room at the Hard Rock, it was time to hit the tables! The dice were effing terrible and I can’t recall ever seeing them so bad. Oh wait Crapsfest last year! It was just awful with more 7’s than I care to remember. I had the dice 8-9 times and went out on my first roll 6 times. I dropped $1000 here.

After dinner I played a little blackjack. I don’t play this game much anymore and of course don’t be like I used to. I was doing ok considering the crappy cards I was getting and was up a bit. Then things changed and I remembered why I gave the game up! Six card dealer 21’s, losing with 20, and the dealer always having a 10 up are just a few of the reasons! I dropped $150 here and went to bed. That was the safest bet of the night.

Dining:
For lunch I had lunch with my friend Anne at Panda Express. I had the two-item combo with their orange chicken and an order of mandarin chicken with a side of fried rice.

After getting my ass kicked at the craps table I had dinner at Mr. Lucky’s. I went with a bowl of chicken noodle soup and the chicken fried steak. The food was good like it usually is here. It just sucks eating after getting killed on the tables.

Total win/loss for the day: $1100
Total comps for the day: $277
