Day 7
Monday December 26, 2005
Gaming:
I started my day up at the Cannery for 5X points on the 8/5 bonus triple plays. Things started out good and I was getting the dealt winners I needed to stay alive and a few quads in between. Then the machine tightened up and I lost all I was up plus the $100 I started with. I tried another $100 and lost that in near record time. I did hit a quad on the bottom line though and used the ACG 50-coin bonus coupon for a $12.50 bonus. I decided to try one more $100 bill but I switched to 5-play DDB with a horrible pay table. I managed to hit quad deuces with a kicker for $200 putting me back in the game. I switched back over to bonus triple play again. I held my own and even hit aces twice. After running over 6k through the machines I quit down $99 and it was time for craps.
Yahtzee Mike showed up while I was playing VP and we both went to play craps. Mike had the dice right away and did pretty good hitting a few numbers. Turns out me and him are the only ones that could shoot worth a shit. I was actually down almost $200 when I got the dice and had a nice run catching a few points and a few rare hard way bets. Rare because I don’t make them very often. By the time I sevened out I was back ahead again. I colored up with a whopping $30 win.
Before leaving the Cannery I cashed out 60,000 points from my account for $100 in cash. This eased the pain of the earlier loss a little bit.
After the Cannery I made a quick hit and run stop at Fiesta Rancho with Mike. Before running into him I played $10 through a penny You Bet Your Life Machine. I hit each bonus round once but I didn’t really care for this game that much. I preferred the Match Game or Password Game Show slots.
The hit and run portion of the stop was to burn a $25 match play from the POV. I was dealt a 17 against a dealer 10. He turned over another 10 and I lost keeping my great luck with match play coupons in tact.
After dinner I got a little more action in here at Main Street Station. I wanted to try out the 10 coin triple plays again. I couldn’t though because there was a guy on them playing 1 coin at a time. Instead I played standard triple play. I was getting a fair amount of dealt winners and quads and got the meter up over $250. I knew I should have quit but didn’t. I ended up dropping way down on the meter and cashing out with just a $25 win. Not very good considering I even hit a straight flush. Scratch cards were 4 for $2 and 2 for $3 for a total $14.
After triple play me and Mike met up again and hit some penny games. I played penny Top Dollar, Texas Tea, and Cleopatra. I started with $20 and after over an hour on these cashed out $15 for just a small $5 loss. Not too bad for entertainment value.
Next up was the bar tops at the Boar Bar. I took a shot with DDB with bad luck. I did hit 4’s and deuces (no kickers) but only hit one other quad the whole session which lasted almost 3 hours. I finished down $225 for the session. My 3 scratch cards were all for $2.
Dining:
Lunch was a quick hot dog and a Coke over at the California Snack Bar. Nothing special here!
For dinner we all went to the Triple 7 at Main Street Station. It was the final edition of Monday Night Football on ABC and the place was packed. I ordered the meatloaf and a cup of turkey noodle soup. The food was very good but the service a little shoddy.
Late night I went over to the Cal Coffee shop but the line was a mile long. Instead I went to the bar at the Triple 7 and got an order of chicken wings with a honey Dijon sauce. They come with celery and carrot sticks and were very good.
Total win/loss for the day: -$150
Total comps for the day: $226
