The Maritimes has many great museums. Some are shown on this page. There are others that range from a single block house to an elaborate village. There are army museums, air plane museums, naval/maritime, historical houses and villages, forts and industrial museums. Some places have guided tours as well as living historical displays that enrich each visit. The largest reconstruction on a 18th century village is Louisbourg and 19th century is King's Landing. The oldest full time European settlement is in Port Royal with Annapolis Royal across the bay from it. Most of Canada's history is represented by the museums from the earliest history to the present day. A museum visit is definitely a family affair. Please feel free to E-Mail me for info on any aspect of Maritime museums, especially if you are interested in visiting one.
