A major part of re-enacting is attending events for a variety of reasons. Individuals and groups may wish to participate in parades to advertise their group and to pay homage to the veterans of that era. Some events are structured towards training to enhance one's ability to better portray the impression they wish to display. Some events are sportsman styled. Others offer a change to come together in big groups to relive an era with their families in a historical setting. The big battles always attract a good number from the re-enactment communities. Lastly one can experience a vacation by traveling to the many events that are available.
