This era has  the largest re-enactments in the world. I have attended 3 major re-enactments in the U.S.. The largest was Getty'sberg in 1998, 28,000 soldiers, over one hundred cannons and several hundred Calvary. There are groups locally who drill and actively portray Canadians in the civil war. Did you know almost 60,000 Canadians participated in the U.S. civil war? Many Maritimers did as well. In fact eleven Maritimers fought at Little Round Top with the 20th Maine and three were killed including 1st Lieutenant Aran Lindscott from Halifax N.S.
