The largest and most authentic historical site in North America is the Fort of Louisbourg. Located in Cape Breton N.S. this fortified town is 1/5 rebuilt. The site includes the town, fort, King's Bastion, defensive works, animators,( such as soldiers, bakers, carpenters, church officials, upper class etc.), harbor works and living quarters. You can buy and eat food at the taverns, attend church activities and watch the daily life of the French during the 1700's. Every four years re-enactors get together from all over to portray the seize of Louisbourg, sometimes with tall ships. If you visit any sites in Atlantic Canada this is a must see for the family! |
