Homer runs out of patience with Santa's Little Helper after he destroys Homer's brand new sneakers. Homer tells Bart that either the dog goes to obediance school or they get rid of him. Bart takes Santa's Little Helper to Canine College, but makes no progress. When the dog eats Homer's favorite cookie and ruins th family heirloom quilt, Homer decides it is time for him to go. Bart begs Homer to give Santa's Little Helper one more chance. Homer agrees to let the dog stay if he passes the final exam at obediance school. Bart works tirelessly to train his dog, but success seems hopeless. Giving up, Bart tells Santa's Little Helper that if he will only learn to sit, roll over, and speak, he can stay with the family. Suddenly, Santa's Little Helper sits, rolls over, and barks on cue. Bart gives othe commands, which the dog also follows. The next day, Santa's Little Helper passes his final exam as the Simpsons watch with pride. |
