When Selma confides to Marge her desire to be married, Marge asks Homer to find Selma a man. Homer searches, but cannot find anyone suitable or desperate enough to marry Selma. Homer meets with Principal Skinner about Bart's behavior and, learing that Skinner is also single, invites him home to dinner to meet Selma. Skinner arrives and is introduced first to Patty. He is instantly smitten. As Patty and Skinner start dating, Selma sinks deeper into despair. Barney learns about Selma's lack of prospects and offers to be fixed up with her. When Skinner asks Patty to marry him, Selma gives up all hope and decides to accept Barney's advances. Patty realizes the effect her relationship is having on her sister and turns down Skinner's proposal. Rescuing Selma from her date with Barney, she takes Selma home. |
