Fracture is a band from Norway and ‘Dominate and overload’ is their full-length debut, but even though it was released in 2010, the band is without a label and the CD was self-released, making it extremely difficult to find. It’s a shame, as this is an awesome heavy/progressive/power metal CD that I’m positive many metal fans would like a lot.

For starters, the production is really strong and there’s plenty of heaviness. As for comparisons, Fracture is like a blend of Tad Morose, Communic, Trail of Murder, Inmoria and Brainstorm, and they’re similar to these bands both musically and vocally. They also provide a bunch of killer guitar solos, which seem to brighten up some of the songs. The songwriting is terrific, and all of the songs in general are excellent and certainly on par with what’s heard from the CDs from the mentioned bands.

So what we have here is a debut that deserves a lot more recognition, and I hope not only that many of you are able to hear it, but also that the band continues their run and can gain more well-deserved popularity with their 2nd CD.
