Let's Go Mets! July 26 - HOME GAME #50 vs Los Angeles Dodgers (56-43)

ALL*STAR Jacob deGrom (10-6) tosses against the Dodgers Matt Greinke (9-2)

51-48

Lets Go Mets! The Dodgers Matt Greinke had a 45.2 inning scoreless streak ended by the Mets when they scored in the 3rd. The Mets were leading most of this game as Jacob deGrom kept the Dodgers off the scoreboard. Jacob went 7.2 innings, gave up 2 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 8. Jeurys Familia blew his 4th save in the 9th allowing 2 runs on three hits. The Mets won in the 10th when a hit by new Met Juan Uribe scored Curtis Granderson with the winning run. It was a great game pitched by deGrom but the blown save really hurt. Luckily they pulled out a win.

Home Game 50

This was my first game by myself since June 16, almost 6 weeks. It is great to have company at the game but when I am attending alone, it feels more like a job and reminds me just how long the season is. Sitting in the Caesars Box on the Excelsior level is a nice view. the sections are mostly under the above overhang. So I stayed dry during the sprinkles that came down for an inning or so. It is very surreal to me to be warm as heck from the 90 degree temperature, sweating from the humidity, and yet watching it rain.

Juan Uribe has a card, or is that Conforto?

I am liking the changes that the Mets have made. The call up of OF Michael Conforto and the trade for Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson have improved the infield depth. If Conforto can build on his 4 for 4 night Saturday he will be a welcome sight in left field for maybe a long time. Uribe's winning hit in the bottom of the 10th has endeared him to Mets fans already.
