May 25th - DH Game #1 - GAME #49 vs Arizona Diamondbacks (19-31)
Rafael Montero (0-2) goes up against Bronson Arroyo (4-3) in game one of a doubleheader at Citi. Travis d'Arnaud went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer and caught five innings with AA Binghamton. D'Arnaud is expected to DH on Monday before returning behind the plate on Tuesday. He could be activated from the disabled list Wednesday. Today is Banner Day at Citi, a popular event since the days of Shea in the sixties.

"The D-backs thwarted multiple Mets rallies by turning five double plays, helping them overcome a 10-strikeout gem from Rafael Montero in the first game of a twin bill, with A.J. Pollock scoring the go-ahead run in the ninth on a Daniel Murphy error. The middle of the order -- Curtis Granderson, Chris Young and Lucas Duda -- combined to go 0-for-9 with 16 runners left on base."
That's how MLB described the game. I just copy and paste. I don't even like describing these games anymore. The Mets slipped six games under .500 and into last place. Rafael Montero pitched well but once again as is the Mets story, the offense did not back up his performance. Granderson and Wright have been hitting recently but the lack of a clutch hit has evaded the Metsies bats to the point of beyond frustration.
I sat down to watch this game after church while game #2 was still on. By the end of the game I did not even feel like watching game two. I turned off game #2 after 2 innings to play Call of Duty.
