I wanted to send out an update on our little Lindsey. She is not so little anymore. She is 27lbs and about 34 inches tall. She does not walk but runs now!! Her lip continues to heal. We have her back on antibiotics due to a sinus infection but things are improving. Christmas was really fun for us this year.

We paused as a family to remember Chelsea. Mementos of Chelsea were placed on our tree but also new ornaments to represent Lindsey. This was the first time we did not put up a stocking for Chelsea and that was ok.

Lindsey was so cute opening her presents! She would rip a little bit of paper and run and throw it away...

... She got plenty of gifts that is for sure.

Jesse had a great time as well!! He is learning fast that his stuff needs to be put up to keep it away from his very busy little sister.

We also got some snow on Christmas Day and that was fun. Lindsey loves snow when she sees it on someone else. When we let our dog, Denali, outside and she came in covered with snow Lindsey would rub her back and just laugh. Communicating with Lindsey is getting easier. She is signing quite well. She knows up, down, eat, drink, thank you, please, help and toilet.

We had a funny potty moment after her bath the other day. She was coming out to get her diaper on and Dad was not quick enough and she squatted right next to her potty and peed on the floor!! I had to laugh.

Steve had been the primary caregiver since 12/14 as I had preventative bilateral mastectomies. My Christmas gift from my late daughter was the knowledge that I have a genetic risk for breast cancer. My surgery went well and I am officially cancer free!!! January 6th marks our two year anniversary since our Chelsea died and January 8th is our 6 month family day anniversary with Lindsey so we are going to have a good week, I can feel it.
