Cincinnati Elder defeated Covington Catholic by the score of 28-20. Elder’s Mason Chumbley intercepted a pass in the final minutes of the game to ensure the victory for the Panthers. Elder recorded 22 first downs and 409 yards of total offense. The Panthers were penalized four times for 35 yards. Covington Catholic recorded 12 first downs and 308 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized twice for 20 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Tommy Becker led Elder’s ground game with 96 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Kaden Estep carried the ball 10 times for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Kaden Estep completed 16 of 19 passes for 220 yards. Jackson Ruth caught eight passes for 92 yards. Chase Walpole added seven receptions for 115 yards. Drew Wauligman caught one pass for 13 yards. Jackson Ruth returned two kickoffs for 38 yards with a long return of 25 yards. Drew Wauligman returned one kickoff for 18 yards. Brody Turner led the defense with seven solo tackles. Mason Chumbley added three solo tackles and intercepted a pass. Derek Uran and Max Doogan each recorded three solo tackles.

Cash Harney led the Covington Catholic ground game with 84 yards on 15 carries. Dylan Gaiser carried the ball 12 times for 50 yards and a touchdown. Cash Harney completed 11 of 16 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Donovan Bradshaw caught four passes for 36 yards. Owen Pitzer added three receptions for 19 yards. Logan Sanning caught a 51 yard touchdown pass. Gabe Weis caught one pass for 47 yards. Dylan Gaiser returned one kickoff for 96 yards. Logan Sanning returned three kickoffs for 46 yards with a long return of 28 yards. Dylan Gaiser led the defense with nine solo and two assisted tackles. Logan Sanning added seven solo and one assisted tackles. Brady Guard recorded six solo and two assisted tackles. Cash Myers chipped in with four solo and two assisted tackles.

Lexington Catholic defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by the score of 29-14. Lexington Catholic recorded 15 first downs and 326 yards of total offense. The Knights were penalized 12 times for 124 yards and lost two fumbles. Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded nine first downs and 133 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs were penalized nine times for 67 yards, lost s fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Brady Wasik led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 147 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries, Esaiah Mashni carried the ball seven times for 45 yards and two touchdowns. Brady Wasik completed 13 of 15 passes for 116 yards. Ashton Pflunger caught three passes for 31 yards. Duncan Gaunce added two receptions for 24 yards. Eli Gann also caught two passes for 24 yards. Eli Gann returned one punt for 19 yards. Jaelin White kicked two extra points, kicked a 19 yard field goal, punted three times for a 46 yard average with a long punt of 59 yards, and kicked off six times for a 56.2 average with three touch backs. Jack Wedding led the defense with three solo and seven assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards. Mark Hosinski added two solo and eight assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. Brady Wasik recorded three solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards. Esaiah Mashni chipped in with three solo and three assisted tackles. Jack White recorded one solo and five assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards. Ben Schlarman added one solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards. Baird Woodall intercepted a pass he returned three yards.

Mekhi McLeod led Dunbar’s ground game with 23 yards on seven carries. Jayshawn Crosby added 20 yards on 10 carries. Dominic Faulkner scored on a five yard run. Dominic Faulkner completed 10 of 17 passes for 103 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Noah Barrett caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Lafayette defeated Henry County by the score of 46-8. Lafayette recorded 12 first downs and 337 yards of total offense. The Generals were penalized 17 times for 105 yards and had a pass intercepted. Henry County recorded 12 first downs and 162 yards of total offense. They were penalized four times for 31 yards. Lost a fumble, and had four passes intercepted.

Tristin Simpson led Lafayette’s ground game with 21 yards on two carries. JJ Richardson carried the ball four times for 18 yards. Tyree Richardson recorded carried the ball three times for nine yards and a touchdown. Jehovanis Kondo completed 18 of 33 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. Cale Locklar caught nine passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Colton Coleman added four receptions for 100 yards. JJ Richardson added three receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Grantz caught a 25 yard touchdown pass. JJ Richardson returned two kickoffs for 47 yards with a long return of 27 yards. Brayson Becknell led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Kendon Wilson added three solo and one assisted tackles. Zhian Harmon intercepted two passes with 25 yards of return yardage including a 25 yard return for an interception. Jackson Grantz intercepted a pass he returned 45 yards for a touchdown. Derrion Jones intercepted a pass he returned for 22 yards.

Ashland scored 22 unanswered points in the second quarter to take control on their way to a 44-23 victory over Tates Creek. Ashland recorded 21 first downs and 421 yards of total offense. The Tomcats were penalized four times for 73 yards and lost a fumble. Tates Creek recorded seven first downs and 102 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized twice for 20 yards and lost a fumble.

Cameron Davis led Ashland’s ground game with 127 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Trevonte Taylor added 82 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Brody Simpkins recorded 78 yards on 13 carries. Justin Hughes carried the ball six times for 32 yards and a touchdown. Luke McCoy added 24 yards on five carries. Daylen Farrow chipped in with 19 yards on two carries. Justin Hughes completed seven of 10 passes for 59 yards and one touchdown. Cameron Davis caught five passes for 42 yards. Dylan Duckwyler added two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Davis returned three kickoffs for 99 yards with a long return of 83 yards. Jacob Waller kicked a 36 yard field goal in the closing second to give Raceland a 17-14 victory over Ashland Blazer. Raceland jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead but Ashland battled back to knot the score at 14-14 late in the third quarter. Raceland recorded 13 first downs and 250 yards of total offense. The Rams were penalized three times for 30 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. Ashland Blazer recorded 15 first downs and 286 yards of total offense. The Tomcats were penalized six times for 50 yards and lost a fumble.

Landen Stiltner led Raceland;s ground game with 126 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Shannon Marushi carried the ball 15 times for 72 yards. Jonah Arnett recorded 48 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Jacob Waller completed one of five passes for three yards with one interception. Eli Evans caught one pass for three yards. Jonah Arnett led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles. Bryson Rowsey recorded five solo and three assisted tackles. Shannon Marushi added six solo tackles. Jackson King chipped in with four solo and two assisted tackles. David Headlee added one solo and five assisted tackles and Landon Stiltner recovered a fumble.

Cam Davis led Ashland’s ground game with 77 yards on 18 carries. Justin Hughes carried the ball six times for 43 yards and a touchdown. Daylen Farrow added 24 yards on four carries. Justin Hughes completed 12 of 22 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Mason Wolfe caught five passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Sam Lyons caught two passes for 20 yards. Dylan Duckwyler recorded three receptions for 14 yards. Brody Simpkins led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles. Luke McCoy recorded seven solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Nathaniel Williams recorded four solo and three assisted tackles. Rieday Rucker added five solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. JJ Keyes chipped in with four solo tackles and Cam Davis intercepted a pass.

Ryle defeated Covington Catholic by the score of 26-20. Cash Harney scored on an eight yard run in the final seconds to allow Covington Catholic to narrow the deficit to six points in a physical hard fought game. Ryle recorded 15 first downs and 293 yards of total offense. The Raiders were penalized five times for 32 yards and had one pass intercepted. Covington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 375 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized five times for 30 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Jacob Savage led Ryle’s ground game with 87 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Nathan Verax added 85 yards on nine carries. Dameyn Anness added 79 yards on 14 carries. Natahn Verax completed three of 11 passes for 26 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Dylan Lee caught two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown. Xavier Collins returned two kickoffs for 24 yards including a long return of 13 yards. Cruze Sauley returned one kickoff for 20 yards. Gavin Moses was one of one on conversion kicks, added field goals of 42 and 34 field goals, punted twice for a 36.0 average, and kicked off four times for a 59.0 average with three touch backs. Jacob Savage led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles. Gavin Lyons added five solo and one assisted tackles. Kai Workman recorded four solo and five assisted tackles. Bredyn Elder chipped in with three solo and four assisted tackles. Dylan Lee intereceoted two passes with return yardage of 52 yards.

Cash Harney led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 131 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Dylan Gaiser carried the ball 10 times for 59 yards. Cash Harney completed 13 of 18 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Dylan Gaiser caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Zach Brooks added three receptions for 45 yards. Logan Sanning recorded two receptions for 32 yards. Donovan Bradshaw caught two passes for 20 yards. Dylan Gaiser returned one kickoff for 15 yards. Logan Sanning and Cash Myers each recorded nine solo and one assisted tackles. Jackson Payne added eight solo and three assisted tackles. Zach Brooks intercepted a pass.

Belfry defeated East Carter 55-28 to give Matt Varney his initial victory as head coach at Belfry. Legendary Belfry head coach Philip Haywood died earlier this year as a result of a tragic auto accident. Coach Haywood was the state’s all time wins leader and had been on the Belfry sidelines since 1983. Belfry recorded 17 first downs and 436 yards of total offense. The Pirates were penalized four times for 43 yards. East Carter recorded 15 first downs and 415 yards of total offense. They were penalized six times for 42 yards, lost s fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Jeremiah Austin led Belfry’s ground game with 147 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Dante Davis carried the ball twice for 35 yards and a touchdown. Ace Caudill recorded 26 yards and a touchdown on two carries. JB Woolum carried the ball three times for 24 yards. Chase Varney completed five of eight passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. JB Woolum caught three passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. Ace Caudill added two receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown. JB Woolum also scored on an 80 yard kickoff return. Jaydon Muncy also score on an 81 yard fumble recovery return. Keaton Deskins led the defense with one solo and nine assisted tackles. Jackson Chaffin added nine assisted tackles. Ace Caudill recorded two solo and six assisted tackles. Dante Davis chipped in with seven assisted tackles. Eli Caudill recorded two solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. JB Woolum intercepted a pass he returned for 36 yards.

Landon Yoak carried the ball 23 times for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Levi Ruffin carried the ball once for 57 yards and a touchdown. Dzsawn Beason added 31 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Thomas Burton completed six of 12 passes for 85 yards with two interceptions. Grant Menix caught three passes for 76 yards. Hall caught one pass for five yards. Dzsawn Beason added one reception for two yards. Chase McGuffin also caught one pass for two yards.

Wayne County defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by the score of 48-13 despite star QB Korbyn Edwards taking limited snaps due to a hard hit early in the game. However they got big nights on the ground from Weston Hancock (111 yards and two touchdowns) and Nathaniel Wright (98 yards and three touchdowns). Wayne County recorded 17 first downs and 257 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized eight times for 81 yards. Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded eight first down and 119 yards. The Bulldogs were penalized twice for 11 yards and lost two fumbles.

Weston Hancock led Wayne County with 111 yards and two touchdowns with 22 carries. Nathaniel Wright added 98 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. Korbyn Edwards recorded 33 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Korbyn Edwards completed one of two passes for 15 yards. Brice Lefevers caught one pass for 15 yards. Ian Tucker returned one kickoff for 79 yards and a touchdown. Thorin Johnson led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards. Highlands overcame mistakes and lost opportunities to defeat Frederick Douglass 21-20 in two overtimes. Highlands lost two fumbles, had a pass intercepted and missed four field goal attempts with two of them being blocked. The score was tied 7-7 at the end of regulation. Highlands took the ball first in overtime and scored on a Tayden Lorenzen 1 yard run but the two point conversion attempt failed leaving the door open for Frederick Douglass. Terry Cayson scored on a 10 yard pass from Brady Ross but the conversion kick was blocked leaving the score at 13-13 and moving to a second overtime. Frederick Douglass got the ball first and scored on a 3 yard run by Dakari Talbert and Ron’Rekus Barber added the conversion kick to give the Broncos a 14-7 lead. However the Bluebirds were not done as Tayden Lorenzen scored on a 4 yard run and then added a conversion run to give Highlands a 21-20 victory.

Highlands recorded 19 first downs and 306 yards of total offense. The Bluebirds were penalized six times for 55 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. Frederick Douglass recorded six first downs and 128 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized 10 times for 65 yards.

Gabe Williams led Highlands’ ground game with 84 yards on 18 carries. Tayden Lorenzen carried the ball 14 times for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Rio Litmer completed 13 of 18 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Cale Harris caught eight passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Gabe Williams added two receptions for 18 yards. Tayden Lorenzen caught two passes for 12 yards. Gabe Williams returned one kickoff for 23 yards. Andrew Lucas returned one kickoff for 19 yards. Gabe Williams led the defense with two solo and five assisted tackles. Connor Carnohan added eight assisted tackles. Max Merz recorded two solo and three assisted tackles.

Dakari Talbert led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 69 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Carter Ross carried the ball three times for 38 yards and a touchdown. Brady Ross completed five of 11 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. DeAndre Clay caught three passes for 39 yards. Terry Cayson added a 10 yard touchdown pass. Kane Pointer returned two kickoffs for 79 yards with a long return of 67 yards. Tacori Fields led the defense with four solo and 20 assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Thurman Wade added eight solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss. Nelson Irakiza recorded three solo and seven assisted tackles. Jimmy Hooks chipped in with four solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss. Cionne Conn recorded three solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned four yards. Stoney Mack added one solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.
