Shelby County coach Eddie Oakley started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Austin Griffin, 6-0 Jr. JaShon Marshall, 6-4 So. Timothy Fuller, 6-0 Sr. Isaac Chandler, and 6-0 Sr. Trenton Burchfield.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Aziel Blackwell, 6-1 Jr. Kanye Henderson, 6-3 Sr. Darik Holman, 5-8 Jr. Sincere Madison, and 5-8 So. Konlin Brown.

 

Henry Clay trailed 38-33 at halftime but outscored Shelby County 47-25 in the second half to earn an 80-63 victory over the Rockets.  There were 10 lead changes and five ties in the game.  Henry Clay shot 44.6% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line.  The Blue devils connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 13 Shelby County turnovers.  Shelby County shot 51% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Rockets connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Aziel Blackwell led Henry Clay with 20 points including three three point baskets, seven of seven free throws, 10 rebounds, and six assists.  Kanye Henderson added 19 points including three three point baskets, and eight rebounds.  Sincere Madison recorded 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  6-0 So. Mason Hawkins chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets.  Darik Holman added eight points and nine rebounds.

 

Austin Griffin led Shelby County with 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Trenton Burchfield added 14 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Timothy Fuller recorded eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals.

Paul Laurence Dunbar eked out a 73-71 victory over Lafayette.  There were eight lead changes and five ties in this game.  Dunbar shot 59.6% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 52.8% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 21 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Nick Spalding led Dunbar with 28 points including seven of nine free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Tim Hall added 23 points and nine rebounds.  Lionel Kumwimba recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. 

 

Campbell DeYoung led Lafayette with 21 points including two three point baskets, and three of three free throws.  Daniel Kinley added 12 points, three assists, and two steals.  Will Stanfield recorded nine points including two three point baskets.  5-10 So. Madison Southern defeated Franklin County by the score of 56-48.  The score was tied four times and 12 lead changes in the game.  Madison Southern shot 37.8% from the field including five of 22 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 17 of 20 from the free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 20 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 36% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Madison Southern turnovers.

 

Jay Rose led Madison Southern with 19 points including eight of eight free throws, and six rebounds.  Trent DeVries added 16 points including three three point baskets, three of four free throws, and four rebounds.  Brett Erslan recorded 11 points including five of six free throws, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.

Dixie Height utilized a balanced scoring attack and a blistering 70% field goal shooting to overcome a 42 points scoring performance by Simon Kenton’s Kelly Niece to earn a 77-75 victory.  Dixie Height shot 70% from the field and one of six from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.  Simon Kenton shot 56% from the field and 11 of 24 from the three point line.  The Pioneers connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.

Lafayette pulled away in the final quarter (20-7) to defeat Madison Central 54-32.  Madison Central trailed 30-25 in the third quarter but the Lady Generals closed the game with a 24-7 run.  Lafayette shot 40.4% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 11 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 24 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 26.5% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on five of 15 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Anaya Brown led Lafayette with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Kylie Noble added 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Lauren Walton recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, four assists, and two steals.  Catherine Jacobs chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, two assists, and five steals.  Olivia Cathers added four points, four rebounds, four blocked shots, and two steals.
