Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Tim Hall, 6-4 Jr. Zach Carter, 6-8 Jr. Lionel Kumwimba, 6-0 So. Nick Spalding, and 6-1 Jr. Max VanDyke.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-3 Sr. Campbell DeYoung, 6-2 Sr. Daniel Kinley, 6-5 Jr. Abe Nelson, 5-10 Sr. Kobe Blake, and 5-10 Sr. Will Stanfield.

 

Paul Laurence Dunbar eked out a 73-71 victory over Lafayette.  There were eight lead changes and five ties in this game.  Dunbar shot 59.6% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 52.8% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 21 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Nick Spalding led Dunbar with 28 points including seven of nine free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Tim Hall added 23 points and nine rebounds.  Lionel Kumwimba recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. 

 

Campbell DeYoung led Lafayette with 21 points including two three point baskets, and three of three free throws.  Daniel Kinley added 12 points, three assists, and two steals.  Will Stanfield recorded nine points including two three point baskets.  5-10 So. Jayd Huynh chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.
