Eastern Kentucky University defeated Transylvania by the score of 81-60.  EKU recorded 46.8% from the field including eight of 27 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 26 Transylvania turnovers.  Transylvania shot 38.3% from the field including seven of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Pioneers connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.

 

6-7 Jr. Cheikh Faye led EKU with 16 points including four three point baskets and four rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Jomaru Brown added 13 points13 points and five steals.  Wendell Green Jr. recorded 12 points.  Curt Lewis chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.  Michael Moreno pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Zach Larimore led Transylvania with 24 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  6-2 Sr. Michael Jefferson added 10 points including two three point baskets and 12 rebounds.  6-5 Sr. Lucas Gentry recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.

Morehead State University coach Preston Spradlin started the following lineup:6-7 So. Julius Dixon, 6-6 Sr. James Baker, 6-10 Fr. Johni Broome, 6-4 So. Ta’lon Cooper, and 6-4 Jr. DeVon Cooper.  Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton countered with 6-7 So. Michael Moreno, 6-5 Fr. Curt Lewis, 6-9 Jr. Tre King, 5-11 Fr. Wendell Green Jr., and 6-1 Jr. Cooper Robb.

 

Eastern Kentucky trailed by 17 points in the first half but rallied to earn a 71-68 victory over Morehead State.  The score was tied in the final seconds but Michael Moreno penetrated to the basket and threw up a runner that was called a goal tend and he was also fouled on the play and converted the three point play for the win.  Morehead State inbounded the ball but was unable to get off a good shot for the win.  The score was tied two times and there were eight lead changes in the game.  It was a game of two halves as Morehead State shot 75% from the field including six of eight from beyond the arc to Eastern Kentucky’s 31.4% from the field.  Eastern’s pressure took its toll in the second half and EKU completed their comeback.

 

Eastern Kentucky shot 41.5% from the field including 10 of 34 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 27 Morehead State turnovers.  Morehead State shot 67.4% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on four of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. 

 

Michael Moreno led Eastern Kentucky with 29 points including six three point baskets and five rebounds.  Tre King added 13 points, nine rebounds, and seven steals.  Wendell Green Jr. recorded nine points, three rebounds, six assists, and four steals. 

 

Johni Broome led Morehead State with 13 points and seven rebounds.  5-11 Jr. KJ Hunt added 13 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.  6-3 Jr. Skyelar Potter recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds.  James Baker also scored 11 points and blocked two shots.  DeVon Cooper chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Eastern Kentucky University raced out to a 46-28 halftime lead on their way to a 95-78 victory over South Carolina Upstate.  Eastern Kentucky shot 53.7% from the field including 10 of 24 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and 25 points off 15 South Carolina Upstate turnovers.  South Carolina Upstate shot 34.9% from the field including seven of 24 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 27 of 32 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 South Carolina Upstate turnovers.

 

Michael Moreno led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, and five assists.  6-2 Jr. Jomaru Brown also scored 18 points and four assists.  Tre King recorded 17 points and seven rebounds.  Wendell Green Jr. chipped in with 12 points and six assists.  6-0 Sr. Russhard Cruickshank added 10 points including two three point baskets.  6-10 So. Tariq Balogun recorded nine points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Curt Lewis tallied seven points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Tommy Bruner led Upstate with 19 points including 10 of 12 free throws and three assists.  Everette Hammond added 13 points and seven rebounds.  Bryson Mozone recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  6-4 So. Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-0 Jr. Russhard Cruickshank, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.  Murray State University coach Matt McMahon countered with 6-7 Sr. Anthony Smith, 6-5 So. Tevin Brown, 6-8 Fr. Demond Robinson, 6-1 Fr. Daquan Smith, and 6-2 Sr. Jaiveon Eaves.

 

Murray State University pulled away in the second half to defeat Eastern Kentucky University by the score of 74-62.  There were nine ties and nine lead changes in the game.  Murray State University shot 40% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  The Racers connected on 22 of 32 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 36.1% from the field including three of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored nine points off 16 Murray State turnovers.

 

Tevin Brown led Murray State University with 21 points including eight of 11 free throws, 10 rebounds, for assists, three blocked shots, and three steals.  6-10 So. KJ Williams added 20 points including eight of 10 free throws, 14 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Jaiveon Eaves recorded 14 points including two three point baskets.

 

Jomaru Brown led Eastern Kentucky University with 24 points including seven of 10 free throws, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Michael Moreno added 11 points and four rebounds.  Tre King recorded nine points and seven rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson chipped in with six points and 10 rebounds.
