Lexington Catholic trailed 26-17 entering the final quarter but scored 17 unanawered points in the final quarter to earn a 34-26 victory over Male.  Lexington Catholic improves to 3-1 while Male drops to 1-3 for the season.  Lexington Catholic recorded 19 first downs and 322 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized four times for 50 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Male recorded 16 first downs and 323 yards of total offense.  They were penalized six times for 71 yards.

Noah Mitchell led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 79 yards on 13 carries.  Mitchell had an impressive outing as he is capable of getting the tough yards as well as the speed to get to the corner.  Mitchell does a good job in pass protection and is a capable receiver.  Kyle Bolin completed 17 of 33 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  David Bouvier caught four passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns.  Adam Bush and C. Zimmerman also caught four passes each for 54 and 41 yards respectively.  Noah Mitchell added two receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown.  Alex Nash led the defense with 10 solo and two assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 23 yards.

A. Ganibegovic led Male’s ground game with 106 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  L. Barbour completed seven of 23 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown.  Kainin Lewis caught two passes for 86 yards and a touchdown.  Ronjae Morris caught two passes for 59 yards.  L. Barbour led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles.  Walter Moffitt and Anthiny Hayden each recorded five solo tackles and Hayden scored on a 35 yard interception return.

Josh Walls ran for four touchdowns to lead Scott County to a 35-6 victory over Madison Central as the Cardinals improve to 4-0 for the season.  Madison Central drops to 1-2 for the season.  Scott County did a great job on defense keeping Madison Central’s explosive Dominique Hawkins in check.  Scott County recorded 20 first downs and 408 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 12 times for 105 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Madison Central recorded nine first downs and 188 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized five times for 40 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Dier. Dumphord led Scott County’s ground game with 123 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Josh Walls carried the ball 11 times for 69 yards and four touchdowns.  Ben Lawler completed three of eight passes for 48 yards with two interceptions.  Scott Daniel caught two passes for 89 yards.  Jordan Kindred led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling nine yards.  Damon Gray added two solo and five assisted tackles.  Peyton Simmons intercepted a pass.

Jamez Chenault led Madison Central’s ground game with 39 yards on 11 carries.  Hunter Stocker completed nine of 21 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  JaCory Mullins caught two passes for 55 yards.  Dominique Hawkins caught a four yard TD pass.  Jon Floyd and Tucker Fair led the defense with three solo and five assisted tackles each.  3.5 of Fair’s tackles resulted in losses totalling five yards.  Logan Cruse and Jordan Cornelison each intercepted a pass.

Franklin County raced out to a 20-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 36-7 victory over Frankfort to improve their record to 4-0.  The Frankfort Panthers falls to2-2 for the season.  Franklin County recorded 17 first downs and 309 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized five times for 32 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Frankfort recorded 15 first downs and 244 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized 10 times for 89 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Logan Woodside led Franklin County’s ground game with 27 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.  Logan Woodside completed 10 of 18 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Ryan Timmons caught four passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns.  Greg Maupin added four receptions for 49 yards.  Jalen Jones led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles.  Jay Brough added five solo and one assisted tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 12 yards.  Damani Aziz, Daniel Anderson, and Chris Roberts each intercepted a pass.

Joseph Morgan led Frankfort’s ground attack with 134 yards on 17 carries.  Kaleb Leach carried the ball 14 times for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Jeff Quire completed six of 16 passes for 55 yards with three interceptions.  Tony Headley caught two passes for 25 yards.  Jesse Dunmire led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in lossess totalling nine yards.  Joseph Morgan added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Tony Headley intercepted a pass.

Tates Creek raced out to a 21-0 lead in a 21-14 victory over Henry Clay.  Tates Creek got out to an early 7-0 lead as Martell Berry caught a 40 yard TD pass from running back Dennis Oxendine with 10:24 in the first quarter.  Tates Creek evens their record at 2-2 and Henry Clay drops to 0-4 for the season.  Tates Creek dominated the statistical battle tonight as they held a 376-119 advantage in total yards and a 34:08-13:52 advantage in possession time.  Tates Creek recorded 20 first downs and 376 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized seven times

Dennis Oxendine led Tates Creek’s ground game with 184 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.  Casey Grimes carried the ball nine times for 45 yards.  Martell Berry completed seven of 12 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Stefan Joslin caught four passes for 31 yards.  Martell Berry and Cal Stewart caught TD passes of 40 and 16 yards respectively.  Kalin Poe led the defense with one solo and five assisted tackles.  Taylor Grimes added two solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling six yards.

Davion Jackson led Henry Clay’s ground game with 94 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.  Christian Todd completed five of 12 passes for 33 yards.  Austin Black caught two passes for 16 yards.  Evander Harris punted three times for a 48.3 average.  Charles McCarty led the defense with six solo and 12 assisted tackles.

Lafayette rolled up 542 yards on offense and evened their record at 2-2 with a 35-23 victory over Owensboro who falls to 2-2 for the season.  The storyline tonight was Lafayette running back William “Bubba” Johnson who ran for 255 yards and three touchdowns and caught two passes for 106 yards including an 85 yard TD reception.  Lafayette recorded 20 first downs and 542 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized nine times for 67 yards and lost two fumbles.  Owensboro recorded seven first downs and 190 yards of total offense.  The Red Devils were penalized three times for 15 yards, lost three fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

William Johnson led Lafayette’s ground game with 255 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries.  Jeremy Smith completed eight of 17 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown.  Garrett Peavler completed three of three passes for 80 yards.  Tranard Chester caught three passes for 121 yards.  William Johnson caught two passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.  Justin Carr led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling six yards and recovered a fumble.  Andy Hampton added three solo and four assisted tackles.  Colin Wilkins and Sam Hack each recovered a fumble and Kylan Nelson intercepted a pass.

Darius Ball led Owensboro’s ground game with 52 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Jacob Roberts completed six of 11 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown.  Joey Ealum caught four passes for 81 yards.  Kendall Tinsley caught a four yard touchdown pass.  Cody Blue led the defense with three solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Domin. Williams added six solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 11 yards.  Michael Dudgeon recorded five solo and three assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling eight yards and recovered a fumble.  Christian Woods also recovered a fumble.

Dunbar who remains winless with a 0-3 record.  East Jessamine recorded 15 first downs and 379 yards of total offense.  The Jaguars were penalized twice for 31 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Paul L. Dunbar recorded 20 first downs and 304 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized six times for 39 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Cameron Thomas led East Jessamine’s ground attack with 261 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries.  Blake Hinkle carried the ball 13 times for 57 yards.  Cody Garrett completed two of three passes for 62 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Cameron Thomas caught a 52 yard touchdown pass.  Seth Hunt led the defense with five solo and seven assisted tackles.  Hayden Tatman added six solo and three assisted tackles.

John Rose led Dunbar’s ground game with 79 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.  Blake Martin carried the ball 12 times for 53 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Martin completed 17 of 34 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Emory Thompson caught four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Dan Mulert led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles.  Seth Haga added three solo and two assisted tackles.

George Rogers Clark jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first quarter but Bryan Station rallied to earn a 40-19 victory.  Bryan Station recorded 19 first downs and 386 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized five times for 44 yards and lost a fumble.  George Rogers Clark recorded 17 first downs and 365 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized six times for 29 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Bryan Station improves their record to 3-1 while George Rogers Clark falls to 2-1.

LJ Warfield led Bryan Station’s ground game with 152 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.  Ora Johnson completed seven of 13 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns.  LJ Warfield caught three passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns.  Austin Hendron led the defense with 10 solo and three assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 16 yards.  Everett Talbert added seven solo and three assisted tackles and returned an interception 80 yards for a TD.

Pokey Harris led George Rogers Clark’s ground attack with 198 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.  Reid Campbell completed two of six passes for 13 yards with one interception.  Darian Skinner completed two of five passes for 14 yards.  Tanner Rose caught three passes for 24 yards.  Conner Shoebrooks led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles.  Mark Davis, Chase Austin, and Garrison Conn each recorded 5ive solo and one assisted tackles.

Highlands 61  Dixie Heights 13 – Highlands QB Patrick Towles completed 19 of 29 passes for 397 yards and two touchdowns with one interception and ran for two touchdowns in a little over a half of playing time.

Lexington Catholic 21  Lafayette 18 – Jake Pumphrey kicked a 22 yard field goal with 10 seconds left in the game.  Pumphrey had missed a 27 yard field goal attempt with one minute left in the game but got a second chance when Alex Nash intercepted a Lafayette pass.

Belfry 34  Henry Clay 21 – Belfry rolled up 426 yards on the ground in their victory.

Fern Creek 32  Paul L. Dunbar 20 – Jalen McNeal led Fern Creek with 121 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries.

Scott County 52  Harrison County 0 – Scott County continues to impress with another rout.

Madison Central 29  Mason County 7 – Dominique Hawkins carried the ball 17 times for 214 yards and scored on runs of 51 and 12 yards to lead the Indians.

Franklin County 34  Letcher County Central 27 – Chris Roberts scored on an eight yard run late in the game to give the Flyers the victory.  Ryan Timmons scored on a 66 yard run and caught TD passes of 71 and 60 yards for the Flyers.  Logan Johnson threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns for Letcher County Central.

Bryan Station 21  West Jessamine 14 – Everett Talbert scored on a one yard run with 14 seconds left in the game to give the defenders the victory.

Corbin 21  Tates Creek 14 – Brady Foley carried the ball 22 times for 159 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Redhounds to victory.  Dennis Oxendine carried the ball 17 times for 219 yards including TD runs of 18 and 80 yards to lead Tates Creek.

Breathitt County 68  Newport 12 – QB Richard Trent threw for TD passes of 51, 55, and 81 yards and ran for scores of 33 and 49 yards to lead the Boccats.

Anderson County 58  Shelby County 20 – Seth Carmichael threw TD passes of 58, 57, and 27 yards to Ethan Kelly to lead the Bearcats to victory.

Beechwood 21  Holmes 13 – Cameron Vocke ran for scores of 2 and 25 yards to lead Beechwood.

Clark County 38  Montgomery County 27 – Pokey Harris ran for 205 yards including TD runs of 61, 17, 56, and 1 yards to lead the Cardinals to victory.

Anderson County exploded for 36 points in the second quarter on their way to a 58-20 victory over Shelby County.  Anderson County improves their record to 2-1 while Shelby County falls to 0-2 for the season.  Anderson County recorded 21 first downs and 555 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized nine times for 60 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Shelby County recorded eight first downs and 243 yards of total offense.  The Rockets were penalized six times for 81 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Ethan Kelly led Anderson County’s ground game with 68 yards on eight carries.  Ganville Hayes carried the ball six times for 54 yards and two touchdowns.  Seth Carmichael completed 11 of 14 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Ethan Kelly caught four passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns.  B. Curtsinger added three receptions for 107 yards.  Ross Cox led the defense with seven solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in  losses totalling 11 yards.  Matthew Sprague added three solo and one assisted tackles.  Ethan Kelly interceptexd a pass.

Zach Bailey led Shelby County’s ground game with 65 yards and 10 carries.  Zach Shipley carried the ball five times for 42 yards and two touchdowns.  Zach Shipley completed eight of 13 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Michael Barry caught three passes for 45 yards.  Chase Manica added two receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown.  Q. Cottrell led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Chris Blake added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Michael Barry recorded three solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and intercepted a pass.

Lexington Catholic kicker Jake Pumphrey got a second chance and it was golden as he kicked a 22 yard field goal with 10 seconds left in the game to give Lexington Catholic a 21-18 victory.  Pumphrey had missed a 27 yard attempt with one minute left in the game but got a second chance when Alex Nash intercepted a Garrett Peavler pass on the Lafayette 25 and returned it to the Lafayette 20 with 52 seconds left on the clock.  Garrett Peavler capably filled in for Lafayette starting QB Jeremy Smith who was out with an injury.  This was only the second meeting beween Lexington Catholic and a Lexington public school. 

Lexington Catholic recorded 19 first downs and 310 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized 11 times for 92 yards.  Lafayette recorded 18 first downs and 356 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized eight times for 80 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Kyle Bolin led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 43 yards on nine carries.  Noah Mitchell carried the ball seven times for 32 yards.  Kyle Bolin completed 12 of 27 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns.  Adam Bush caught six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns.  David Bouvier added three receptions for 21 yards.  Jordan Artrip led the defense with six solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling five yards and recorded a safety.  Alex Nash recorded four solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and intercepted a pass.  Two of Nash’s tackles resulted in losses totalling 18 yards.

William Johnson led Lafayette’s ground attack with 143 yards and a touchdowwn on 20 carries.  Garrett Peavler completed 11 of 19 passes for 226 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Tranard Chester caught six passes for 159 yards and a touchdown.  Jason Ferguson led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles.  Justin Carr added five solo and seven assisted tackles.  Chris Oldham recorded five solo and two assisted tackles.
