Madison Southern coach Juan Byars started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Laci Sandlin, 5-8 So. Briana Hensley, 6-0 Fr. Adeliah Collier, 5-3 Sr. Maria Himes, and 5-4 Sr. Hadley French. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-8 Fr. E’maria Owens, 5-6 Fr. Charleigh Foster, 5-11 Jr. Addison Combs, 5-5 Sr. Anna Clay Denton, and 5-7 Jr. McKinlry Emerson.

Lafayette led 59-51 with 52 seconds left in the game but had to survive a furious rally by Madison Southern to earn a hard fought 62-60 victory. There were five lead changes and seven ties in this game. Lafayette shot 42.9% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 20 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 53.1% from the field including eight of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on 18 of 23 free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.

E’maria Owens led Lafayette with 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. McKinley Emerson added 11 points and eight rebounds. Addison Combs recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Anna Clay Denton chipped in with eight points including six of nine free throws, five rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.

Laci Sandlin led Madison Southern with 19 points including 10 of 12 free throws, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Briana Hensley added 14 points including two three point baskets and four of four free throws. Adeliah Collier recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Hadley French chipped in with seven points including two three point baskets and four assists.
